I'm following two brothers Heinrich b 1700 settled at Rockhill (then Bucks now Berks) and Philip Jacob b 1696 (my line) settled near Fogelsville (one of the founders of Ziegel Ch) later moved near Macungie (the water was better for farming). Catherine Meyer Paul Hartzell - b. ca. 1823 ; d. by 1876 M. Carolina (?) Paul & Carolina moved to Allen Co., IN in the 1860's I feel certain that James & Paul were brothers, as they were bap. sponsors for each others children. Another possible brother is John. He & Paul lived near each other in Bloomville, OH, Seneca Co., OH. Isaac & Judah Strauss of Lehigh were also sponsors for one of Paul & Carolina's Children. My grgr grandfather Reuben Hartzell (1812 - 1878) had 2 aunts who married Strausses, and Reuben & Isaac may have come to Seneca at the same time, along with a number of others who lived in Macungie just prior to their emmigration to Seneca in 1847. Hello Everyone, Does anyone have a copy of a book titled, "Men of Bethlehem," which would have been published around 1900-1910? My g-g-g-grandfather is mentioned in this book. My mother had a copy of the page, but I can't find it now. It would be a great help if someone could transcribe the paragraph referencing him. Also, I have a copy of the Liberty High School Directory, published a few years ago. I am hoping that someone has a copy of the 1860 and 1870 census of Lehigh County, PA There are 2 Evan EDWARDS in the 1870 census, one in the town of Whitehall and one in Coplay. In the 1860 census there is an Even Edwards on page 38. I am hoping to find that one of these is the father of my Alvira PARKER. She would have been 1 in 1860 and obviously 11 years old in 1870. Alvira's death certificate states that her father was Evans Edwards and she was born in Richmond, PA. I have not been able to locate Richmond, PA. I do not know why her name was PARKER before she married, but I believe if I can locate this Evans Edwards, at least I have a starting point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
