Hi Looking for surnames: FINK HEITZ DIEHL Thank you BSKTBTQUE@aol.com
Hi, I am addressing this message to the list in the hope that someone out there knows anything about this Quarry accident (explosion) to whom Tom Bowman refers. His great-grandfather Oscar Gruver was killed in this accident. My great-grandfather, Martin Gutekunst, was also killed in such an accident about the same time. I don't know if it was the same one but it seems as though it might be. He was the teamster driving the wagon which contained the explosives and he was killed instantly. His son, Clarence Gutekunst, was my grandfather. He was born in 1883 and was the youngest of ten children. He was quite young at the time of the accident. If anyone has any information on this subject, I would appreciate hearing from you. JOANHB@aol.com (Joan Blank)
My grandfther James William Gruver was born 12 July 1888 Allentown Pa. His father Oscar Gruver was killed sometime between 1888 and 1900 in a quarry minning accident. His mother Ida May Fritz supposedly remarried. On the 1900 Census I found a James Gruber born July 1888 living with James Fretz in Allentown, This may be him but no mother Ida was listed as living with them and James Gruber's relationship to James Fretz was listed as adopted. James Fretz at the time was 69 years old. Old enough to his grandfather. What other records are available that I could check to find out if this is my grandfather? Also I would like to find his father Oscar's death. My Grandfather left home at an early age and came to Ohio he never kept much contact with his mother though I have an aunt who said they got an occasional letter from her or a sister. My Grandfather had the ordacity to die before I got interested in Genealogy so I've got to find his youth the hard way. Any ideas from those who are familiar with Lehigh County research would be greatly appreciated. TomB

Okay list, while I am at it I may as well ask about Emma Jane Lewis. This was my grandmother married to Franklin Sensinger. Emma Jane was born in Salisbury Twp. I am not sure where. Her father was Jeremiah Lewis and her mother was Ellen?. Jeremiah was from Indiana as were two of his older children. This leads me to the conclusion that he was married two times. I also found his father Abraham and mother Lucretia in the IGI. Now I know that Emma Jane had 4 or 5 sisters. What has happened to them I do not know? So I am looking for her birthplace, be it Wescoesville or Macungie or what ever. I am also looking for information about her mother and her sisters. Oh, she had one brother named Harry. Thanks for any information any one can give me. Anna in AZ
Hello List, I am looking for any information about Franklin Daniel Sensinger. He was my grandfather. I know he had one sister named Flora or Florence. He was married to Emma Jane Lewis. They had three living children and two that died at a young age. I think his father was Tilghman Sensinger and his mother Ellen Caroline? . I know that the Historical society of Lehigh Co. has some information about the Sensinger family starting with Ulrich. What I am looking for is more direct family to Franklin. Did he have any other siblings etc.? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Anna in AZ.

If you saw otherwise somewhere, I would appreciate knowing the source... But last I knew no part of Lehigh County, PA (or if memory serves, no part of PA) 1890 Census has surfaced. Last numbers I saw, again if memory serves, is something like 1% of the entire 1890 census is known to have survived... James Gilbert
