What is the Morovian Church ? I know it is probably a dumb question, but I have never heard of it.
Just a note to anybody who has entered records into the computer; or who may be interested in entering information for others... The PAGenWeb site (Lehigh County) maintains a FTP site to house any type of file that is genealogically related to Lehigh County. This includes any church records, court records, birth records, necrologies, adoption records (I limit to pre 1900) if anybody has access to the books, wills, letters of Administration, census 1790 - 1920. I prefer that only the Twsps that are now Lehigh County be included in the 1790 1800 1810 files... The others rightfully belong in Northampton County. site is at ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/pa/lehigh/ Always looking for volunteers to enter records, provide look-ups, etc. James Gilbert Lehigh County PAGenWeb County Coordinator

If you would like to join, please send a message with subscribe (and nothing else) to: MORAVIANCHURCH-L-request@rootsweb.com mail mode MORAVIANCHURCH-D-request@rootsweb.com digest mode Susan Schlack, http://www.enter.net/~smschlack

Have no idea where Arbutus is, but I can tell you where ALBURTIS is... Just west of PA Route 100; about 3 miles north of Macungie. and 1 or 2 miles south of Fogelsville. Hello fellow researchers, I am searching for the location of the records of what was Zeigel's Church. The records I am interested in would have been from 1760 - 1770, or thereabouts. I am seeking information on Matthias GIFT who along with his wife was a sponsor at the baptism of John Antoni GIFT son of John Adam GIFT in 1765 according to the records at Zeigel's Church. I am told that the church was - at the time - in Weissenberg Township and that the area is now in Lehigh County. I will be grateful for any information on the location of these church records. Thank you in advance for your help. Janet in Baton Rouge, LA
Did anyone ever hear of an Arbutus, PA? My gf, James V. Dugan and his three older brothers and sisters were listed in family records as having been born there. My ggf, James Dugan, worked for Bethlehem Steel, but I haven't been able to find any record of any area by this name in researching PA in general, or specifically, Bethlehem. I know the name is similar to Alburtis, PA, which I've been able to locate on maps located close to Allentown. In fact, ggf James, had a brother, Hugh, who had children in this city. But, family records indicate they are two distinct and separate cities... Even if you can't help, thanks for reading my inquiry. Anne Donofry
Is anyone researching HEFFELFINGER, BREISCH, MCLAUGHLIN, PETTY, ALLEN, MCPHERSON, FRAME, EHRICH, BERNHARD, SPANGLER, FAHLER or FEHLER from Lehigh Co., Pa? Please contact Jane at green956@aol.com.
Hi there, I checked my Lehigh / Northampton County roadmap for Moses-something road. Sometimes a town disappears and only a road remains. No luck in either county. I also found a MOSERVILLE Road in Lynn Twp., Lehigh Co., PA. Perhaps it is in adjoining Carbon, Schuylkill, Berks, Bucks or Monroe County? Sue P.S. Lehigh was Northampton Co. 1752-1812, so I always search both. ---------- > From: Arless Eilerts <aeilerts@southwind.net> > To: PALEHIGH-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [PALEHIGH-L] location of Mosesville, PA?? > Date: Saturday, December 12, 1998 9:18 AM > > > > You wrote on Friday, December 11, 1998 5:24 PM: > > > > Family history states that one of my g-grandmother's was born 1860 in > > Mosesville or Moses Ville, PA. Family history states that one of my g-grandmother's was born 1860 in Mosesville or Moses Ville, PA. I have checked the USGS mapping service but I can't find a town or county by that name. Was wondering if someone out there might happen to know if Mosesville ever existed and where. Danette
Dear Researchers, In case your ancestors may have wandered over the county line. The Northampton Co., PA census for 1890 is steadily going online at http://www.enter.net/~ritar This does not contain all the information available in a US Census, but does contain the names, ages, and in some cases, occupations of everyone in the county. In city areas street addresses are included. The latest additions are Washington & William Twsps., Plainfield Twsp, Nazareth, Pen Argyl, and South Easton names from M to Z. Over 60,000 names are online now. The following are also included: Bethlehem--north and south, Bath Borough, Chapman Quarries, Freemansburg, Hanover Tsp., Hellertown Borough, Moravian Seminary, all of Lower Saucon Twsp: Ironville, Leithsville, Redington, Seidersville, Shimers- ville, and the part of Hellertown located in Lower Saucon. Also, Allen Township including Catasauqua, Howertown, Newport, Siegfried's Bridge, and Stemton. Also, Palmer Township, Bangor, Mt. Bethel--Upper and Lower, Bethlehem Twsp., and Lehigh Twsp. including Berlinsville, Cherryville, Treichlers, & Danielsville. Mary

Looking for the parents of Peleg M. RUMFIELD born 3/25/1818 in PA, d. 5/29/1862 in Meigs Co. OH. Married Rachel PETTIT April 28, 1839 in Morgan Co., OH. I believe Rachel was born in PA as well.
