While surfing a popular auction site, I found "RevYeager-Lutheran-Allentown,Pennsylvania1889." I recognize this work because my ROTHs were at Schoenersville Lutheran in 1812. This book can be found at my local library, so I don't need it. For your information, Lehigh County was incorporated in 1812. Prior to that year search the courthouse of Northampton County (Easton, PA). Lehigh County does not have many official papers prior to the 1906 acts that required birth / death registrations. For early marriages, it would be best to search church records. The Koch(er) family was primarily found in South Whitehall (then Whitehall Twsp), Upper Macungie, Wisenburg Twsps. The immigrant of my line of Koch's was a member of the Jordan Lutheran Church in South Whitehall Twsp ( the Whitehall Twsp), Lehigh County (then Northampton County). Jim
Mae and Earl, My reference book says Lehigh County was formed in 1812 from Northampton. Hope this helps. Terri

Naturalizations before 1900 were often granted by local courts, and therefore those court would have those records. The same would be true for early marriages. On the other hand, Lehigh County may have still been part of Northampton County at that time (1781/1796). You may want to try the Northampton County Courthouse in Easton. I can't recall offhand when Lehigh became its own county. Anyone? Happy Hunting, Earl Kinsley

Hello- I am hoping has or can give me an idea where to find Easton High School Yearbooks from 1923-1929. I am looking for the first name of my great uncle Guy Holmes's oldest son. His first name may have been Ray. He had a younger brother Norman. I was told that he disappeared some time in the 30's, may have been a bootlegger. Also trying to find his children, he had at least 2, and they were living with their mother Viola in the Easton area in 1949. The oldest of these children was graduating from Easton (?) high school about this time, so perhaps a school annual from this time would help me out also. If anyone could do a lookup for me, or give me any ideas where to turn, it would be greatly appreciated! About two months ago I was corresponding with a lady who was researching the name Brown and Tapper/Topper from PA and the Silver Run Area of Carroll County MD. Since this machine (my computer) and I don't always see eye-to-eye, it threw away the address of this lady and now I have some information that may be of interest to her. If you read this, please get in touch with me. Jim Rodgers
Dear Terri, I was just searching "The Morning Call" archives at http://www.mcall.com. The searchable records go back to 1984. I recall an article about the almshouse in the last ten years at least. This database is great. To get obits, you can search for "ROTH and HEIMBACH and died." That means the people who died could have been born circa 1904. The deceased's parents are listed and would get you back to THEIR birthdate, circa 1884. Happy hunting! Sue
Haven't posted for a while and thought I would give it another shot. Any help would be appreciated. Margaret Schmidt b. 1756 Also looking for descendants of Solomon Rumfield b. 1786 Northampton PA>Montgomery, TX m. Lydia I am interested in information on any of the Rumfeld/Rumfield families. My g-g-grandfather was Peleg M. Rumfield born in 1818 in PA. I don't know the place of birth, but it was in the PA Dutch area. I have not been able to connect him to his parents, though I have collected a lot of information along the road. Hopefully one of the above is the connection I am seeking. I would be happy to share my info. Thanks for any and all responses. Dick Sommer <rosommer@primenet.com>
My g/g/grandfather is listed in the 1920 census as living at the Lehigh County Almshouse. Does anyone know what it was, if it still exists, and where I may find their records. Thanks for your help as always. Terri
Hi, I'm going to run this posting again not that the holidays are over and see if I have any more luck. I'd really like to get these photos to the rightful owner: While shopping for Christmas I noted a collection of photographs which obviously belonged as a whole. They must have been sold in an estate sale to an antique dealer. I rescued the ones which were identified with names and sometimes locations. I'd like to find the family of these people and see that they get these photos. There were more that I did not purchase and I can go back for them if I find the family of these. I hated to sink too much money on this whim. They have all been taken by photographers from Allentown, PA. and I would guess c. 1900-1915. Photos I have are: Marie Fritch of Macungie, PA Blanche R. More of Catasaugua, PA Anson Sittler Roy Stewart Harry Metzgar Herma Moyer of Macungie, PA Mabel and Maude Miller Mabel Miller Minnie Weaver of Egypt, PA Florence Barron of Coopersburg, PA Miriam Taylor of Annville, PA Margaraet Prizer of Schwankville, PA Mary Ann Reed of Lorane, PA Alfred Keefer Florence Keefer If you have a connection to any of these or know of someone who does, please contact me. http://www.webspawner.com/users/familyhistorygame/ Patsy patsy@penn.com

If anyone needs a researcher for Northampton County information (when Lehigh was a part of Northampton) then you might contact the following person. Her research is impeccable and her rates are reasonable and turnaround time is good. Nancy Darwin darwins@erols.com
Sue, Try searching in the Morning Call archives. They only go back to 1984 but check obits. I found alot of family by reading them and checking parents. Go one or two back into late 1800's. If you are lucky let them know so they keep it on-line. Jack. Hellertown, Pa http://www.mcall.com/library/search.htm Searching GEYER, SCHWEDER, LYONS, SCHOCK & SCHUCK, WETZEL, LANDIS and more. Hi everyone, I am really tired of staring at all of these bricks!!! I am following some leads on my elusive ROTHs: Adam ROTH (c.1909-) m. Jennie HEIL of Allentown, d.o. Charles & Jennie (DEITZ) HEIL Harry ROTH (c.1877-) m. Mary HEIMBACH possibly of Emmaus. Originally I was led (by a scrap of paper!!!) to believe that five ROTH daughters married HEIL, HEIMBACH, LEOPOLD and NAUMAN and now I think that five ROTH s-o-n-s married Miss HEIL, Miss HEIMBACH, Miss LEOPOLD and Miss NAUMAN. If anyone has an ideas, I would be eternally grateful! Sue Bethlehem, PA
Thanks for the offer for the lookup. If you still have the book would you check on the surname LORY (Anthony, Franklin). Also, Samuel Hess who died 10/30/1896. All of these people lived in Lehigh County. I appreciate your help. Terri
