This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------020C20872CFB331DD6977354 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi, Mary... I have some information on JUNDT/YOUNT in Hanover Co. 1840 on, and while this is more recent than the ones you're after, they may be connected. This family were among the founding members of the Emmanuel/Immanuel Evangelical Church located at 2nd and Walnut Sts in Catasauqua. Abraham and Silas Yundt were among the earliest listed in the 1840s. On May 18, 1848, the members of the congregation, to raise money for building their church, compiled a list of subscribers. The list contained the names of Joseph Yundt, Enoch Yundt, and Henry Yundt. The Knauss family also were among the earliest settlers of Hanover Co. If you want more on this family I'll have to dig it out. On pp. 1156-1157 of HISTORY OF LEHIGH CO. by Charles Rhoads Roberts, et al, published in1914 by the Lehigh Valley Publishing Co., there's a bio sketch of the Schneider family with separate bios of William M. Schneider and James M. Schneider. There also are numerous bios on SNYDER, which is a variant of Schneider. I don't have the book - just the index - but the Lehigh co. Historical Soc. has a copy of the set, and can check for the names. I've attached a file with some other info connecting Jundt/Yount with DOTTERER that you may find of interest. I've also included one on SNYDER. BTW, I'm looking for EMMA YOUNT who m. SAMUEL WILSON in Easton, ca. 1874. I've speculated that she may be of the Catasauqua Jundts since Samuel lived right across the street from the Immanual Evangelical Church, and may have met her there. Dan Wilson -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, I am looking for information re: Abraham (Jundt) Yount. On 08 Oct. 1780, he & Elizabeth Barbara Schneider were sponsors for Abraham Yount (born 26 Sept. 1780); this child was son of George Jundt (brother of Abraham) and Eva Catherina Knauss. Who was Elizabeth Barbara Schneider? Was she the wife of Abraham? Relative? My line is the younger brother Johannes (Apr 23, 1723-1790), who married ANNA ELIZABETH ZIMMERMAN, dau of ANNA ELIZABETH DOTTERER and her husband MICHAEL ZIMMERMAN. The line you want is older brother JACOB YUNDT (Oct 8, 1714-Jan/Apr 1760), a 1750 settler on 278 acres on the Lehigh River in Whitehall Twp., now Lehigh Co., opposite Catasauqua, in what is now the borough of Fullerton. Jacob took up warrants of GEORGE MILLER, Oct 23, 1737, on May 9, 1750, and took out one himself on June 12, 1750. In 1757 he built a large stone house (still standing in 1884- -prob. today too, but I don't know), later called the FREDERICK mansion. He died without a will, his administration is as JACOB YOUNT, DOROTHY YOUNT widow and John YOUNT [deceased's brother] got the letters of admin. DOROTHEA YUND(T) (1720-Mar 1780) left a will dated Mar 16, 1780 probated in Northampton Co. [of which Lehigh was then a part], resident in Whitehall. Buried Mar 21, 1780, by Rev. ABRAHAM BLUMER. Her son DANIEL and PHILIP JACOB SCHREIBER were her executors. Their children (my records are not complete) 1. PETER YUNDT (c. 1742-aft 1780) 2. GEORGE YUNDT (Mar 30, 1744-Apr 13, 1828) Took over his father's property in 1771. Worshipped at Egypt Reformed. Justice of the peace for long time. Marr Mar 26, 1771, Eva Catharina Knauss (Aug 15, 1750-Apr 22, 1818), Both buried at Zion Refd, Allentown. -son HENRY YUNDT (Dec 9, 1788-July 18, 1874), buried Zion Refd 3. DANIEL YUNDT, executor of his mother's will 4. JACOB YUNDT (July 29, 1748-aft 1780), bpt Oct 9, 1748, Jordan Lutheran. Sponsors: Jacob Schreiber, Magdalena Schreiber, Heinrich Ebener, JOHANNES JUNDT [uncle] 5. ABRAHAM YUNDT (d. aft 1780), marr Elizabeth _?_ -son JOSEPH YUNDT (Feb 22, 1803- ), bpt Egypt, Mar 17, 1803; spon. Peter and Catharina Meyer. Married CATHARINE HOLLEY. -dau MATHILDA YUNDT (Nov 1`7, 1816- ), bpt Egypt, Dec 2, 1816; spon. Peter and Catharina Burkholder. -ABRAHAM YUNDT, marr FANNIE HUFFMAN. No chiuldren -JOHN YUNDT, marr ANNE POPE. 6. MARY YUNDT (d. aft 1780) JACOB and JOHANNES were sons of 1731 Alsatian immigrants HANS GEORG JUNDT (1691-bef 1781) and Anna Maria Jundt (1691-aft 1731). These parents and JOHANNES (8), JACOB (16), and HANS GEORG (12), MARIA ELIZABETH (6) came to Phila. on the Britannia, arriving Sept 21, 1731. They settled at Colebrookdale, eastern Berks Co. Son JOHN YUNDT went to North Carolina in 1750, returning at least by 1765 944444.(1759) . Do these facts fit? Ron WILSON, SAMUEL Married EMMA YOUNDT on 27 Sept 1883. Bride and groom both of Easton. [Records, 1st Presby Ch. of Easton] Could this be the SAMUEL WILSON that was listed as JOHN McKEEVER's brother-in-law in the 1880 census, age 15? If so, this may be MARY's brother, and he would have been 18 years old in 1883. There was a GEORGE YUNDT of south Whitehall who was appointed a commissioner to establish and maintain a toll bridge across the Lehigh River at Biery's Port. This was a result of an act of the Pennsylvania Legislature March 5, 1824 (Glace, 1914). Could EMMA YOUNDT be related to GEORGE YUNDT? There were also ENOCH YOUNDT and HENRY YOUNDT listed as Catasauqua taxables in 1853 (Glace, 1914, pp104). Original members of Emmanuel's German Evangelical Church of Catasauqua, organized in 1836, included HENRY YOUNDT, ENOCH YOUNDT, ABRAM YOUNDT, JOSEPH YOUNDT and their wives (Mathews and Hungerford, 1884, pp.255) DANIEL JUNDT and GEORGE JUNDT were listed among the taxables of Hanover Township in 1812.
