    3. Thank you for your great reply- I guess that solves one possiblility. Since Margaret, sister of George Kohler is your ancestor and she's married to Conrad Moore, she is not my Margaret. I found the will, by the way, so I know that George's wife, Mary Elisabeth was still alive when he died. There should be some interesting material still in the Northampton Court House about the settlement of this estate. I've always been kind of fond of George also if only for the fact that he remembered his godchild, George Frantz and his sisters and sister in laws in his will. He did have brothers but they weren't mentioned. George Smull, the nephew seems to be the primary heir with his brother, Pieter as an afterthought. I wonder if the final settlement is in Lehigh Co.. Since his wife didn't die untill 1825. it should be interesting. At least some of the people mentioned would be dead and their heirs would be named. About George Fenstermach, s/o William and br/o George Kohler: I only had George's 1/2 brother. I have this note just written before George's will. I don't know where I got it but it might have a grain of truth somewhere: George Frederick Kohler arrived on the "Mary" on 1733 (Straasburg and Hick. Vol 1, p. 131-134) with his wife Elizabeth. He came from Preuschdorf, married on May, 1726 Elisabeth Kessler, daughter of the late Marx Kessler, former inhabitant at Glicham in Switzerland. The notation in the KB record: "Went to the new land". In the Emmaus Moravian KB, Lehigh Co., George Friedrich Koehler and wife, Anna Maria had a daughter, Maria Magdalena, B. 26 Nov.,1759. This daughter must have died young because his will which was wtitten in seventeen ninety seven and there were no children of George and his wife mentioned. Could this have been George I and w. Mary Eliz.I confused with George II. If George I died, Mary Eliz.I could have been the widow who married Jacob Fenstermacher. That would have made William a 1/2 brother to George II. The children mentioned were almost alike. George's sisters were Margaret, Catharina, Christine and Hannah Mack. Hannah and Anna are used interchangeably but Anna was married to Bieber and Hannah to Mack. Margaret was listed as a sister of George but not a daughter of the marriage with the widow Kohler, but could she have been from Fenstermacher's first marriage? Christian could have been Christina. and Catharine wasn't mentioned. Now I know why I only bring this out of the box every year or so. It's so confusing. You have certainly added some information to the puzzle and it certainly has helped to take away a few questions. I now know that my Margaret Frantz wasn't George Kohler's sister. There is another Kohler in my folder that is none related as far as I know. He's Gabriel Kohler m. to Marie Elizabeth (another one). He died in 1790 and had children baptized at the Dryland Luth. Church and First Ref. at Easton. If you find anything that will give me a lead on the Frantz connection I would appreciate it and if you can use anything I have, I'd be glad to help. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that there was a Frantz connection in Alsace in the marriage of Catherine Juliana Kohler b. abt 1877 d/o Jacob Kohler b. abot 1690 in Brockenheim. She married Nicholas Frantz, b. 12/15/1664 and d. 12/5/1724 s/o Jacob Frantz and Susanna Specht in Diedendorf. I don't have any records of their offspring or her syblings but there were quite a few Swiss refugees that came to Alsace in the late 1600s and early 1700s. Regards, Nancy ps- You mentioned Henry as the brother for George Kohler II. Could Gabriel be the brother of George I or II also? Nancy J.
