Kessler, The Unangst family is mine also, and CORRELL could also be GORRELL. No one can seem to connect John GORRELL who married "Hannah" 1st, Anne GREEN 2ND, and died in Bath Co., KY 1830 + to anyone. He was said to have been in Dauphin Co., PA, but the two names can be pronounced so similar, that those not used to it, cannot detect it. She was the County Historian, but is now retired. Too, I do believe that the SELL families there in Northampton County are mine. We have Abraham, Henry & Jacob names in our family also, except that we spell it ZELL. Her name is Dottie Kessler. I don't know her husband's name. I was looking for the Will of John GREYBILL and wife, Hannah, when she asked why. "He is my 4th GGF." she said. Mine too. Seems some of these came out of Rockingham Co., VA. but I don't know just whom, and cannot seem to locate Thomas ZELL f/o Peter, who was born PA 1795. Buried Prinveville, OR 1881. Peter states in 1873, that he was 73, born in PA 1795, and was living in OR. Our earliest census for TN is 1820. ----- Original Message ----- From: "geri brennan" <gerifelker@webtv.net> To: <palehigh@rootsweb.com>; <panortha@rootsweb.com>; <pamonroe@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 17, 2006 12:53 AM Subject: [PALEHIGH] hoffman > rev war. > hoffman > ambrose, va line > > andrew, n.y. > > george, in hazen's regt > > cornelius, pa. line, applied in schuylkill co., pa. aged 78 > > henry, pa. line, wf elizabeth, applied in 1834 frederick co., md. age 77 > and stated he had married elizabeth wickard of lancaster, pa. in aug 1783 > > henry, r.i. and sea service, soldier was born 18 march 1749 in germany and > arrived at phila,. pa in 1764, and after becoming of age he moved to > newport, r.i. > > herman, ma. > > john, n.j. line > > john, pa. soldier was born 1758 or 59 at easton, pa. and he lived in > northampton co, he applied 1832 in bucks co., pa. a residet of richland > twp. > > john, va. line, soldier was born 1762 in pa.., he lived in culpepper, va. > > ludwig or ludwich, wf catharine, pa. line. soldier was born 1755 at > easton, pa. and he lived in bucks co., pa.at nlistment. soldier applied at > allegheny co., pa where he lived for 40 years > > philip, md. > > reuben, catharine, n.j. > > william, see william huffman > > huffman > christian, pa. line > > cornelius, pa. line > > daniel, n.y. > > henry, va > > john, va > > joseph, wf elizabeth, va > > philip, va > > philip, va > > reuben, wf catharine, va lin > > william, wf mary, n.j. > > willliam, n.j. > > rew vets-buialw > hoffman > ambrose, glasgow, ky > > cornelius, east brunswick twp., pa > > daniel, same place > > detrich, ohio > > george, jordan luth. ch. walbert, lehigh co., pa > > henry, new ringoold, pa > > jacob, same place > > jacob, st. john lutheran, montgomery co., pa > > johannes, lebanon, n.j. > > john, dallas, n.c. > > john, frederick, md > > > john, ohio > > john, lebanon, n.j. > > john, richmond, va > > john, egypt, pa > > john, dallas, n.c. > > martin, columbia, n.y. > > michael, lebanon co., pa > > nicholas, n.y > > wilhelm, neff's, lehigh co., pa > > william, n.j. > > > zacherias, , ohio > > > Best Wishes, Geri > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > PALEHIGH-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message > ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PALEHIGH-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. geri, wouild you try to find harlan absher for me. I have uimpteen spellings for his name, but we cannot seem to make a dent. One John ABSHER was here in Allen Co., possibly from NC or VA, but the families south of the TN line, can make no definiste tie. And, through checking the KY LIbrary in BG, I learned there are many spellings, of which I receive even another spelling Ippinger.I believe UPSHAW/UPSHER anr two of the variations. And there were 4 in Warren co., 1810. But, no one can tie them. Our earliest census for TN is 1820. ----- Original Message ----- From: "geri brennan" <gerifelker@webtv.net> To: <palehigh@rootsweb.com>; <panortha@rootsweb.com>; <pamonroe@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 17, 2006 12:53 AM Subject: [PALEHIGH] hoffman > rev war. > hoffman > ambrose, va line > > andrew, n.y. > > george, in hazen's regt > > cornelius, pa. line, applied in schuylkill co., pa. aged 78 > > henry, pa. line, wf elizabeth, applied in 1834 frederick co., md. age 77 > and stated he had married elizabeth wickard of lancaster, pa. in aug 1783 > > henry, r.i. and sea service, soldier was born 18 march 1749 in germany and > arrived at phila,. pa in 1764, and after becoming of age he moved to > newport, r.i. > > herman, ma. > > john, n.j. line > > john, pa. soldier was born 1758 or 59 at easton, pa. and he lived in > northampton co, he applied 1832 in bucks co., pa. a residet of richland > twp. > > john, va. line, soldier was born 1762 in pa.., he lived in culpepper, va. > > ludwig or ludwich, wf catharine, pa. line. soldier was born 1755 at > easton, pa. and he lived in bucks co., pa.at nlistment. soldier applied at > allegheny co., pa where he lived for 40 years > > philip, md. > > reuben, catharine, n.j. > > william, see william huffman > > huffman > christian, pa. line > > cornelius, pa. line > > daniel, n.y. > > henry, va > > john, va > > joseph, wf elizabeth, va > > philip, va > > philip, va > > reuben, wf catharine, va lin > > william, wf mary, n.j. > > willliam, n.j. > > rew vets-buialw > hoffman > ambrose, glasgow, ky > > cornelius, east brunswick twp., pa > > daniel, same place > > detrich, ohio > > george, jordan luth. ch. walbert, lehigh co., pa > > henry, new ringoold, pa > > jacob, same place > > jacob, st. john lutheran, montgomery co., pa > > johannes, lebanon, n.j. > > john, dallas, n.c. > > john, frederick, md > > > john, ohio > > john, lebanon, n.j. > > john, richmond, va > > john, egypt, pa > > john, dallas, n.c. > > martin, columbia, n.y. > > michael, lebanon co., pa > > nicholas, n.y > > wilhelm, neff's, lehigh co., pa > > william, n.j. > > > zacherias, , ohio > > > Best Wishes, Geri > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > PALEHIGH-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >

    3. Geri, My Greybill 4th cousin in Botetourt, whom I met in 1980s at the courthouse, married a Kessler, The Unangst family is mine also, and CORRELL could also be GORRELL. You see Peter's daughter Phebe was my GGmor. married Patrick FITZSIMMONS s/o Patrick, Cumberland Co., PA who died 1826/7, married Elizabeth Unangst. (I haven't got my chart in front of me.) d/o Andrew, RWS. Unangst. whose relationship I still don't have either.) ----- Original Message ----- From: "geri brennan" <gerifelker@webtv.net> To: <palehigh@rootsweb.com>; <panortha@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 02, 2006 1:39 PM Subject: Re: [PALEHIGH] kessler > forks > kessler, johann peter, 12 sept 1741-14 april, 1820. wf. anna catharine; > children; catharine married christian correll, barbara married j. adam > schuk and george peter, 14 oct., 1761-11 july 1836 > > st. peter's > kind, martin 28 june 1775-20 july 1833. wf. eliabeth;children; lydia, > barnet, thomas, christina married philip kessler, sarah marrie samuel > kline, franico married george steidler > > forks > stocker, adam 15 feb. 1736-24 june 1814, maria magdalena his wf. born > beissel, 5 march 1741-23 july 1805; had 7 sons and 2 daaughters > adam s/o adam 10 nov 1754?-18 may 1836 > maria barbara heimer (1766-1860); children; charle, daniel, rudolph, sally > kessler, mary ihrit, elizabeth w/o john kern, anna w/o philip unangst > > 1793 nov 10 mr. kessler with gebe schneider > > 1802 july 11 christian kesler to elizabeth ruth > > 1810 nov 11 john kessler to sarah stocker > > 1814 aug 23 george p. kessler to magdalena frees > > 1825 mmarch 24 philip kessler to catharine kind > > 1829 aug 30 thomas kessler to lydia kind > > > Best Wishes, Geri > > > -----Original Message----- > From: geri brennan > Sent: Thursday, November 2, 2006 11:08 AM > To: palehigh@rootsweb.com, pamonroe@rootsweb.com, panortha@rootsweb.com > Subject: [PALEHIGH] kessler > > kessler, john g.p. of northampton co., he was born june 18,, 1825, s/o > philip and catharine (kindt) kessler. his great-grandfather john george > peter kessler emigrted from germany, became one of the early settlers of > plainfield. the grandfather was george peter kessler, he was 3 when he > came to america. > > the father of john was philip a. kessler. children, john g.p., andrew, > amandeus, sidney, thomas, richard, catharine, w/o jacob steele and julia, > w/o jacob buss. > > john .g.p. marrie eve stecker, of forks twp. children; philip a., theron > m., georg l. > > kessler, frank j. 3. He may have gone by another name. He is buried in either Barren or Cumberland Co., KY. I did reseasrch on this family severaL years ago. Possibly out of Virginia, as there seemed to be a German ring to this family, and I grew up and went to school with one in Yakima. ----- Original Message ----- From: "geri brennan" <gerifelker@webtv.net> To: <palehigh@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 02, 2006 6:34 AM Subject: Re: [PALEHIGH] hoffman > hi martha, there is no charles hoffman/huffman from ky listed at the > national archives. > > Best Wishes, Geri > > > -----Original Message----- > From: martha w. jackson > Sent: Wednesday, November 1, 2006 10:53 PM > To: palehigh@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [PALEHIGH] hoffman > > Don't forget to check Kentucky for soldiers afer the RW. > Charles Huffman listed Barren Co. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "geri brennan" <gerifelker@webtv.net> > To: <palehigh@rootsweb.com>; <panortha@rootsweb.com>; > <pamonroe@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Tuesday, October 17, 2006 12:53 AM > Subject: [PALEHIGH] hoffman > > >> rev war. >> hoffman >> ambrose, va line >> >> andrew, n.y. >> >> george, in hazen's regt >> >> cornelius, pa. line, applied in schuylkill co., pa. aged 78 >> >> henry, pa. line, wf elizabeth, applied in 1834 frederick co., md. age 77 >> and stated he had married elizabeth wickard of lancaster, pa. in aug 1783 >> >> henry, r.i. and sea service, soldier was born 18 march 1749 in germany >> and >> arrived at phila,. pa in 1764, and after becoming of age he moved to >> newport, r.i. >> >> herman, ma. >> >> john, n.j. line >> >> john, pa. soldier was born 1758 or 59 at easton, pa. and he lived in >> northampton co, he applied 1832 in bucks co., pa. a residet of richland >> twp. >> >> john, va. line, soldier was born 1762 in pa.., he lived in culpepper, va. >> >> ludwig or ludwich, wf catharine, pa. line. soldier was born 1755 at >> easton, pa. and he lived in bucks co., pa.at nlistment. soldier applied >> at >> allegheny co., pa where he lived for 40 years >> >> philip, md. >> >> reuben, catharine, n.j. >> >> william, see william huffman >> >> huffman >> christian, pa. line >> >> cornelius, pa. line >> >> daniel, n.y. >> >> henry, va >> >> john, va >> >> joseph, wf elizabeth, va >> >> philip, va >> >> philip, va >> >> reuben, wf catharine, va lin >> >> william, wf mary, n.j. >> >> willliam, n.j. >> >> rew vets-buialw >> hoffman >> ambrose, glasgow, ky >> >> cornelius, east brunswick twp., pa >> >> daniel, same place >> >> detrich, ohio >> >> george, jordan luth. ch. walbert, lehigh co., pa >> >> henry, new ringoold, pa >> >> jacob, same place >> >> jacob, st. john lutheran, montgomery co., pa >> >> johannes, lebanon, n.j. >> >> john, dallas, n.c. >> >> john, frederick, md >> >> >> john, ohio >> >> john, lebanon, n.j. >> >> john, richmond, va >> >> john, egypt, pa >> >> john, dallas, n.c. >> >> martin, columbia, n.y. >> >> michael, lebanon co., pa >> >> nicholas, n.y >> >> wilhelm, neff's, lehigh co., pa >> >> william, n.j. >> >> >> zacherias, , ohio >> >> >> Best Wishes, Geri >> >> >> ------------------------------- >> To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to >> PALEHIGH-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the >> quotes in the subject and the body of the message >> > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > PALEHIGH-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > PALEHIGH-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >

    3. I MET A WOMAN AT A SCHOOL OF MISSIONS SEMINAR, WHOM MUCH RESEMBLED MY MOTHER'S SIDE OF THE FAMILY IN MANNERISMS. HOWEVER, SHE WAS FROM A TOWN IN WABASH CO., WHERE MY FATHER'S FAMILY WERE. As we sat speaking to one another, I asked her maiden name and she said KOEHLER. KAYLER? I was also familiar with that, as there was one in my hometown back in 1942. But at that time I didn't even know my father had a mother. (She died when he was 5.) And, since my father's ancestry comes out of Northampton & Lehigh and Bucks, there may be somehing in this. Can you give me more specifics? I strongly suspect that many other relatives travelled along with the others. I do know the Rhineharts were there, the CARRs, Fitzsimmons, Wersts, and Barnes were among them. Shraders, also. ----- Original Message ----- From: "jack diehl" <diehl@pcspower.net> To: <palehigh@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, November 01, 2006 5:50 PM Subject: Re: [PALEHIGH] George Kohler > Nancy, > > This George Kohler is near and dear to me as he is the brother of one of > my ancestors.
