    1. [PALEHIGH] Attention descendants of the Michael Messinger (born 1719) Family of Northampton County
    2. Attention Descendants of Michael Messinger, who was born in 1719, and his family that arrived in Philadelphia in 1732, and died in Forks Township, Northampton County, PA in 1791 I am wondering if anyone has definitive records to show where the Messinger family emigrated from. I have often heard Basel, Switzerland tossed around as a possibility, but so far I haven?t been able to find anyone with records from Basel to support that. A little while ago I came across an interesting website. The people on the website had joined together to commission a researcher in Germany to find the origins of their family. I was wondering if there would be any interest in doing the same for our Michael Messinger. Although such research is very expensive (the one I saw was over $700), if we can get a lot of people to contribute we can drastically lower the price of the research. For example, if it would cost $700 and 7 people contributed, that would only be $100 each. If we got 14 people, it would only $50 each, and so on. Some researchers also have a policy that they only collect payment if the search is successful, thus meaning that there is no risk for the p! eople commissioning the research. This email is only meant to test the waters. If we pool our resources we stand a far greater chance of being able to find the exact place our family came from than if we all go it alone. Please let me know if you have any interest in undertaking such a project. If you do, and have any suggestions as to possible researchers or organizations to hire that would be much appreciated as well. Hope to hear from you all soon! ~Michael Messinger~ My Messinger line: Michael (b.1719), Jacob (1748), Isaac (1789), Elias (1822), William E. (1859), Claude C. (1883), John (1922, my grandfather)

However, I am not aware of some of these names, EXCEPT that they pertained to some people & places I knew of. Again, you just mentioned Nicholas Zell. This same area (Augusta Co., VA) showed Peter APINGER, wife Eva, administratrix. and on the same page, Vol. 3 Augusta Co. Records lists one Nicholas SALLES/SOLLEY. If you will remember the ice skating team in the last Olympics one was a SALE pronounced SOLLAY, which could also be Zelle. as I believe this is also in the NJ records. (I have been in this business for almost 35 years.). So, in the VA records, the SELLES name might be SELLE's. Anmd, in Manikantown, I believe they are SALLY's. But, I can't make anyone believe that his name was spelled some other way, even in the article which was printed in KENTUCKY ANCESTORS awhile ago. ----- Original Message ----- From: "geri brennan" <gerifelker@webtv.net> To: <palehigh@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 13, 2006 12:36 PM Subject: Re: [PALEHIGH] kessler > huntington co. > 1790c > fitzsimmon, henry > > fitzsimons, patrick > > lancaster co. > zell, john-caernavon > > zell, adam > > kessler, abraham, cocalico > ott, george, cocalico > > zell, nicholas, earl twp > > montgomery co > zell, john > zell, david > zell, jacob > > berks co > sell, george-maxatany > > sell, samuel > > huntingdon co > sell, abraham > > montgomery co > sell, abraham > sell, henry > > phila. co > sell, solomon-northern liberties > > york co > sell, bernard > > Best Wishes, Geri > > > -----Original Message----- > From: martha w. jackson > Sent: Thursday, November 9, 2006 10:23 PM > To: palehigh@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [PALEHIGH] kessler > > gERI, i KNOW OF THE HASSLER family out of Berks Co., PA about the time > Christian SCHLECHTY lived there. 3. Geri, I have been working on the ABSHER family for awhile, and was sent something on a Peter Ippinger who went to Darke Co., OH, (if I remember correctly), Roann, IN in Wabash Co., and several other places I can't recall at this time, but many mentions of things I knew of. 3. I FOUND ONE PETER WARST LISTED IN THE PA ARCHIVES, IN BUCKS cCO., BUT HAVEN'T GOTTEN THE PRINTED RECORDS FROM THE LIBRARY AS YET. THERE WAS ALSO A MARX WARST LISTED. MARK IS A NAME ALSO IN OUR FAMILY. THE YODER SITE STATES THAT PETER WERST IS BURIED AT SAUCON MENNONITE CEMETERY. Has to be an unmarked grave. And, on one side or the other of Magdelena. I wrote the Historicsl Society or someone in Bucks Co., for info on him, since I couldn't find a spelling anywhere that would fit and bring results. There has to be a record on him in that county -somewhere. However, I do believe that a part of Bucks was included in Lancaster, and with the related names of the Peter WORST there, am wondering if he isn't ours, as there were an awfully lot of names in his area I was familiar with. There was also a Peter FRANK,WHO WENT FROM PA TO DARKE CO., WHERE MINE WENT, (OHIO), BUT DON'T KNOW WHERE HE CVAME FROM IN PA. i DON'T THINK HE WAS THE ONE WHO MARRIED MARY MAGDELENA WERST. UNLESS SHE DIED EARLY. ----- Original Message ----- From: "geri brennan" <gerifelker@webtv.net> To: <palehigh@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, November 10, 2006 10:06 AM Subject: Re: [PALEHIGH] Franz / frantz (long) > martha, not to me. i've been looking for my great-great-grandmother and > still a brick-wall. so i know what you mean. just keep looking, and any > name you want me to look up, i will be glad to look them up, and you never > know who it will help. > > Best Wishes, Geri > > > -----Original Message----- > From: martha w. jackson > Sent: Friday, November 10, 2006 6:56 AM > To: palehigh@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [PALEHIGH] Franz / frantz (long) > > Since I have been working on my father's family for 30 years to no avail, > I > have to check every possibility.
