Hello, I am searching for more information about an Emanuel Mease, born March 1847, probably in Union Township, Lebanon County. The earliest record I have found is a listing on the 1870 Census for Union Township: Emanuel Mease, 24, laborer Sarah Mease, 22, wife Isadora Mease,1, daughter Jane Dundore, 8, no relationship listed (possibly a niece) Henry Houser, 21, mill-wright, no relationship listed (boarder?) There is no record for Emanuel Mease on the 1880 and 1890 Censuses. Emanuel's first wife Sarah died in 1882. I do not know if they had other children besides Isadora. I believe they may have been the parents of my greatgrandfather Hiram (Hiley) F. Mease, born June 9, 1874 in Greenpoint, Union Twp., but at this point I have no proof. Emanuel Mease is found on the 1900 Census for Union Township; he is remarried to a Mary nee Rupp Ditzler. I have a copy of their marriage license.They were married June 11, 1892 at the Lickdale Parsonage by an O. S. Scheirer, Minister of the Gospel. Emanuel lists his mother as a Rosanna Mease; his father is listed as deceased. Emanuel Mease, born March 1847, 53, married 9 years Mary Mease, wife, born Feb. 1845, 55, married 9 years, 3 children, 3 living Lizzie Ditzler, dau, born June 1877, 22, single Irvin/Irwin Ditzler, son, born March 1875, 25 Sallie Ditzler, dau, born Feb. 1880, single I do not have a death date or burial place for Emanuel Mease. He died sometime between 1900 and 1910. He is not listed on the 1910 Census; Mary Mease is listed as a widow. I would appreciate any information someone might have concerning this Mease family. Elizabeth, Have you found a Rosann Mease in 1880? Here are a couple entries in Union township from Family Search. Perhaps you've already considered them. Page 39A, Film T9_1145 Rosyann Mease Self W F 64 PA Keeping House PA PA Lucy Mease Daughter W F 44 PA At home PA PA Elias Mease Son W M 22 PA Works on farm PA PA Maggie Mease Daughter W F 15 At home PA PA John L Zechman Gson W M 13 At home PA PA Molly Schreiver Gdaughter W F 9 At home PA PA There are Rupps next household. Also on Page 39C Clinton Deitzler 35 Mary Deitzler 33 Three youngest children are: Irwin 6 Elizabeth 4 Sarah 4 m There are also three older children. Perhaps they were born to a first wife? There are several Mease families in 1880, however found no Emanuel in Union Twp. Can't say if this is of any help or not. Judy Baker
