Thanks for your reply, Richard. Mary Shearer and Lewis Cornman came from Lebanon county to Rushville, Illinois (Schuyler County) where they had their children. She died and he married again to Jane P. Elser. I was just curious if you might have a connection to Mary since I have had such a hard time locating her family. Thanks again! Evelyn, Sorry. The only Mary I'm aware of was the daughter of Henry Shearer (no relation to my line) and Barbara Behme. Mary was born in 1768, when the land that later became Lebanon County was still part of Lancaster County, and died in 1855 in Upper Strausburg, PA. But Henry was one of six sons, and one of his brothers also may have had a daughter named Mary. I abandoned my researches on that family when I realized it wasn't mine.
