Elam A. Shaeffer, Jr. Elam A. "Bob" Shaeffer Jr., 54, of 522 Weidman St., Lebanon died of natural causes, Saturday, April 29, 2000, in the Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Donna L. Mehler Shaeffer. Born Oct. 25, 1945 in Lebanon, he was the son of Elam A. Sr., and Virginia E. Henshaw Shaeffer of Lebanon. He was employed in retail sales at Wal Mart. He was a former member of several area civic and social organizations. For many years he coached the Rohland Funeral Home Midget Baseball Team. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents, are daughters Sherri A., wife of Duane Rubendall and Kristie L. Shaeffer both of Lebanon, sons Jonathan E. Shaeffer and Jason D. Shaeffer, both of Lebanon; a brother Ellis A. Shaeffer, Lebanon and a sister, Bonnie L., wife of Edward Wagner Jr., Lebanon; three grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Lee Shaeffer. Memorial services held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home 5th & Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer society.
