Marie/Sandy, I've been watching this topic, and I'm not that this the time to ask my question, but, I am looking for Brandt tombstones, probably in Swatara, but possibly as far away as Jonestown or Fredericksburg. For someone born that long ago you might be able to get information from Vital Records. Probably a look-up fee and bureaucrats are not genealogists so their look-ups may be less thorough than you would like (at least that was my experience in VA). However, you would probably not run into them being labeled top secret as if they were adoptees. In VA, you have to explain your relationship to the deceased -- don't know about PA -- except that I can't get my birth certificate because they issued two for me, the real one and a fake one that I have to use because I am adopted.
