    3. In going through old newspaper issues of the early 1900's I came upon the mention of the following villages where people of the surname I am researching were mentioned. I wonder if anyone can help me find the exact township (and county!) some of these are located within. They may be in either Lebanon Co. or in Dauphin Co. If you know the township and county please post to this list: Buck Lock Centerville Campbelltown Grantville Hockersville Kingstown Landisville Lochiel Oberlin Shellsville Shirksville Viam I'm going to try and look through the townships in the 1900 census records wherein these villages are/were located, but since Ancestry hasn't indexed that I'd like to narrow my search by township(s). ---Richard

    3. Richard, You might try this link to search for the possibilities on counties. I think it's current data but you might check the county site to see if there's a history of township formation. I was surprised to find that there are 9 Centervilles in PA! The one I'm familiar with is in Lancaster Co. in West Hempfield Twp. Landisville has two entries -- Lancaster and Bucks. Again I'm familiar with the one in Lancaster Co. in East Hempfield Twp. Good luck! http://resources.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/townco.cgi Judy Baker
