    3. Thanks everyone for responding to my "burg" location question. My real puzzle, if I didn't make it clear, was what township each of these was located in. Karen did a good job on this, so I am posting her response here. But appreciate all your input. Viam I am pretty sure is in upper Lebanon Co. somewhere. It regularly had its own column in the days when I was reading in the old newspapers, so guess it must have gone out of existence. It was a big cattle town at one time from what I can tell, but maybe all the cattle got tired of it and up and left? ---Richard > > > > Buck Lock > Don't know > > Centerville There are 11 places in Pennsylvania called Centerville. > Closest to the area are these: > Perry Co Liverpool Twp; Cumberland Co., Penn Twp., Lancaster Co, Hempfield > Twp., > > Campbelltown > Lebanon County; South Londenderry Twp. > > Grantville > Dauphin Co., Hanover Twp. > > Hockersville > Two: one is Cumberland Co., Penn Twp., Dauphin Co., Derry Twp > > Kingstown: > don't know > > Landisville: > Lancaster Co, East Hempfield Twp. > > Lochiel > Union Co., Buffalo Twp > > Oberlin > Dauphin Co., Swatara Twp > > Shellsville: > Dauphin Co., Hanover Twp > > Shirksville > Lebanon Co., Bethel Twp > > Viam > Don't know > > > > > I'm going to try and look through the townships in the 1900 census records > > wherein these villages are/were located, but since Ancestry hasn't indexed > > that I'd like to narrow my search by township(s). > > > > ---Richard > > > > > > > > > > ==== PALEBANO Mailing List ==== > > to contact list manager: [email protected] > > > > >
