    3. In reading through an old newspaper on microfilm for 1885 I ran across an interesting little article. I wonder if anyone knows if previous to this date the names of the parents were not required in Pennsylvania? Also does anyone know when parents names were first entered on the PA death records? "Below is a full list of the questions which will have to be answered by those making application for a marriage license under the law passed by the last legislature, and which goes into effect on Oct. 1 [1885]: Parent's names of both man and woman; consent of parents or guardian; date of death of their former spouses, if any, ; date of divorce if any; and the relationship of the parties, either by blood or marriage, was another thing that supposedly had to be answered. ---Richard
