War Rowland Jacob, wf. Christina, PA Line, soldier married Christina Fernsler 13 Feb 1791 and soldier died 16 Aug 1841 and he left children; Jacob, Philip, Abraham, Michael, Henry, Elizabeth who married Jeremiah Bitz, Christine who married Israel Embich, Mary who married Jacob Spangler, Margaret who married John Mellinger, and Catharine who married Daniel Zimmerman (all were living in 1854). Soldier's widow had died 29 May 1849, on the 12 of April, 1854, Lebanon Co, the sons, Michael aged 42 of S. Lebanon Co and Henry Rowland, aged 49, of N. Lebanon Co, made joint aff'dt in 1854 Roland Jacob, PA Line, S7420, soldier was born about 5 miles from Lancaster and he lived in Lancaster at enlistment and then he moved to Hagerstown and Hancock, MD., then moved to Frederick Co. VA then moved to Shenandoah County, VA, where he applied in 1832, aged about 69. Roland, War of 1812 Robert, wife Mary, WO-28423, VA Thomas, SC-8438. VA Lancaster County-Roland Paternal grandparents, Jonathan (died 1847, aged 67) and Catharine (Huber) (died at aged 82) Roland. Both buried in New Holland. Father, Henry Roland, was born in Hinkletown, maried Margaret (Seeger), she was born in New Holland. Children; Catharine who married Esaias Kinzer of Leacock township; Jonathan H., who married Elizabeth James, William, a doctor at York, PA; John F., a grad of West Point, who died in Charlestown Harbor aged 36; Henry A., who died in 1901 aged 82, he married in 1849 to Jane Whann Heyl, d/o Philip and Margaret (Whann) and they had children, (Dr. Oliver of Lancaster, William H., a lawyer of Lancaster and Frederick of Reading, Berks Co); Cornelius F.; Julia, wife of the Hon. William H. Heister, at one time the secretary of the Commonwealth. Spangler Family of Lebanon County. Michael Spangler, founder, came here as early as 1732, puchasing a tract of land near Myerstown. He reared a family of 10 sons and 2 daughters, one of the former, George Spangler being the grandfather of Michael Spangler of W. Cornwall twp. George Spangler, was born near Myerstown in 1782. He married Catharine Dandies, children, Jacob, John, George, William, Catharine, who married John Lowinell and Sarah who married John Beckley. Jacob Spangler, father of Michael, was born in 1806, in Prescott, Lebanon Co. Michael Spangler, was born in 1830, in S. Lebanon Co, a son of Jacob and Maria (Beckley), the latter died in 1851 aged 42, she was the mother of 12. Michael Spangler married in 1859 to Barbara Witmer, born 1830, d/o Peter, of Lebanon Co. They had 5 children; Solomon who married Elizabeth Mellinger, of Ephrata, Lancaster Co; Oliver, married Catharine Mellinger; Abel who married Sarah Greiner, of Lancaster: Amanda and Daniel who married Elizabeth Steckbesk and lived in Lebanon Best Wishes, Geri
