Hello, I am searching for more information about a Melchoir Mease, born Feb. 25, 1845 in Union Township. He was a son of David and Rosanna Mease. The birthdate and names of the parents match exactly with an Emanuel Mease, who is found on the 1870 Census with a wife named Sarah and a daughter named Isadora, born in 1869. Isadora's marriage application lists her father as a Melchoir Mease. I believe Melchoir Mease and Emanuel Mease were the same person. I have a copy of Emanuel Mease's death certificate. He was born Feb. 25, 1845, died July 5, 1909 in Union Township. His parents were David and Rosanna Mease. Perhaps Emanuel was Melchoir's middle name. Would anyone have more information about Melchoir/Emanuel Mease? I would like to know if there were other children besides Isadora. Melchoir/Emanuel Mease may have been the father of my greatgrandfather, Hiram (Hiley) F. Mease, born June 9, 1874 in Greenpoint; but I have no proof at this time. Unfortunately, the Melchoir/Emanuel Mease family is not found on the 1880 Census. Melchoir/Emanuel Mease's first wife Sarah was born in 1849, died 1882. He remarried in 1892 to a Mary(Rupp) Ditzler.
