Hi, Folks... I know quite a slug of KILLINGERs are from Lebanon, PA. In fact, for years I have hoped to trace my George KILLINGER of Philadelphia (there were two - not to be confused) back to the clan at Lebanon! But I have never succeeded. In fact, I was doing that even today... Problem: I have run across, on the Rootsweb site, a collection of data provided by Robert M. Howard that is - at least in part - inaccurate and, sadly, misleading. I don't say he did it on purpose or anything malicious. Just that the data is inaccurate, and is thus misleading. There it is listed that George Jr KILLINGER m. a WAMPLER. Now there is a George that a WAMPLER *did* marry, but not my George Jr! He died in 1793 of Yellow Fever!!! His stone inscription at Christ Church in Philadelphia is yet accessible! He died quite young, as did his brother, Phillip. Now that is inaccurate and misleading. Now here is the part that may actually be good or may not be good. If it is good, Robert has done me an inestimable service! He lists my George Sr KILLINGER as the son of Michael KILLINGER & Catherine HEILMAN. Now I am suspicious that it is incorrect, based on the other inaccuracy. But, in fact, I don't know that he is incorrect here. He may have really hit on it. The reference he uses purports to be "the Heilmann family genealogy." Does anyone on this list have the information contained therein? Can you verify or refute his entry? Thanks, Vince Summers
