    2. I don't have this information available to me just now, but I do recall seeing an obituary of the man for whom Palmyra was named. It is in the records of Bindagels Lutheran Church.     3. See http://www.palmyrapa.com/history/ for a history of Palmyra which was indeed named for John Palm, a native of Heilbronn, Bavaria. I also have a question. Why, if the town was named for John PALM, is it pronounced "pal - mrya"? I seem to remember that, when I was a child, it was pronounced "palm - yra" which, it seems to me, is much more logical. Is there anyone out there old enough to remember that?
