Surnames: DeHart Dieffenbach Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jdB.2ACI/550 Message Board Post: Seeking info on my gr-gr-grandfather Amos DeHart who married Lovina Dieffenbach (I have seen various spellings of Lovina's first name). In the 1870 and 1880 censuses, he was listed as a carpet weaver in Myerstown. Amos was born abt 1818. According to the 1880 census, he was born in Penna, as were both his parents. I have seen Lovina mentioned in the Morton Montgomery's Historical and Biographical Annals under Samuel W. Dieffenbach's (her brother) biography. However, I am at a dead end with Amos. Can anyone help link me with his parents? My Amos is NOT the Amos DeHart from Alsace Twp, Berks Co, PA. Amos & Lovina's son, Thomas Henry DeHart (my gr-grandfather) is buried in St. John's UCC Church in Mt. Aetna near the Berks/Lebanon county line, as are many other DeHarts. Many members of the more current generations of DeHarts stayed in the western Tulpehocken Twp, Mt Aetna and Myerstown areas. Thanks for any help.
