I do not subscribe to the Lebanon List, so I am replying at the Lebanon Co. Message Board, which is automatically "gatewayed" (forwarded) to the List. Nancy posted: Source: PALEBANO-L@rootsweb.com From: "nancy lowe" Subject: Re: PALEBANO-D Digest V05 #178 I've been researching my Embich line of ancestors lately and today I came across a request on RootsWeb(dated 2002) for information about Christoph Embich, a carpenter, who came to Lebanon from Germany via the ship The Nancy on June 21, 1774. Did anyone ever answer the lady's request? If so, what was determined? I'm not sure this is the proper venue for such requests as mine. I'm rather new at genealogy researching online. Thanks for any light you can shed on the matter. - - end quote Christoph Embich is my ancestor. He did live in Lebanon Co. (although it was Lancaster Co. when he arrived there). And he did come to this country on the Nancy. However, he did not come in 1774. Christoph Embich came to this country in 1752. He signed the oath in Philadelphia on 27 Sept 1752. Christoph went on to participate in the Revolutionary War as did sons Christopher, Philip, Bernard, and Jacob. I'd love to share information on the Embich family.
