    3. I am looking for information on South Lebanon in the period of 1777-1830 or so. Specifically, I am tracking Pierre (aka Peter) Triest (also spelled Treist in records) who may have settled in the Lebanon area circa 1778 or later. I can place him in the PA militia in 1777, and believe he may be the grandfather of Samuel (b. 1813) and George (b. 1806), both farmers in South Lebanon in the 1850 census. Can anyone suggest where to look, or have information already? I know he was born in Flanders in 1751; was in London 1766; got into trouble and was transported to Maryland; enlisted in the Corps of the Count von Ottendorff, later Armand's Partisans, 1777 (a fascinating unit that used their language skills to infiltrate British lines by impersonating Hessians). Am now trying to link him to the Triests of Lebanon Co. He may have gone there as a guard for Hessian POWs or at the end of his enlistment.
