I do think that the spelling of the name was changed; however, I do not know if it was changed from Matter or Meader or Meeter or what. I just know that I cannot seen to find the parents of Elias Mader. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to proceed? Would there be an obit some where? I know he died June 29, 1872 and is buried at Kimmerlings. I though there might be a connection to the name Maderia but I learned later that Maderia was the name of a family from Portugal that converted to Protestantism moved to Holland and then to the American colonies.
