I am looking for suggestions for further research on my "brick wall," Amos Lear. He was born in Dauphin County, 1872, Sep 11. (Stated place of birth on his marriage certificate) He married Clara Berry, from Annville on Mar 26, 1892. Their marriage certificate states he was a coachmaker, listed mother as: Sarah Lear, father dead, Guardian listed as John Fisher. Clara Berry is from the Berry family of Annville which is well-documented and easy to trace. They were married by Jonathan E Herester, Minister of Reformed Church, Palmyra. They lived in Lebanon for quite a while, finally moving to Annville. Late in life Amos joined the church of Clara's family, Christ Church in Annville, and they are both buried in Hill Cemetery, Annville. There is no obituary info in the Lebanon newspaper. Is there any type of Annville publication (newspaper) from this time-frame? Where did Amos come from? I have searched 1880 census, and all church records in Lebanon/Berks that I can obtain. I have posted to Dauphin County listing with no response. (Amos date of death - 1953, mar 26) It strikes me that the name "Amos" is not the typical German name of this time-frame, which makes me think that he could be Mennonite/Brethern. I have 2 days to go to courthouses, etc. for my search. I will start at Lebanon Courthouse, and move on from there. Looking for suggestions from those of you more experienced. Thanks!
