They have a web-site right there that you could click on and it shows a marvelous map of today's North Carolina. (I believe) My family was here in the south and I have had a hard time checking some of them who were on this small little part that evidently runs over into Virginia and Tennessee. This map helped a lot and I am now checking on Rowan-roots-l and expecting a lot of good things to come of it. North Carolina evidently incorporated South Carolina a long time ago and I believe it was all the Carolina colony, but you had best check with someone born in NC, as I was born in California.
