In response to a question about identifying the parents of my Grandmother Bomberger, who died in Lebanon in 1952, someone was helpful to suggest that a copy of the death certificate should include their names. I have also run into a blockage trying to identify the parents of my Great Great Grandfather, William Russell, who died in Pine Grove Township on February 25, 1895. Did the counties issue formal death certificates in the late 1890's which might include their names? If so, should I contact an agency in Pine Grove or Pottsville?
