    3. Dear Anna--The 88th PVI, also known at the "Cameron Light Guards" was recruited primarily from Philadelphia and Berks County in 1861. It was in garrison in Washington and Alexandria until April 1862, It's first major battle was Second Mannassas. Joining the First Corps they fought at Antietam, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg, etc--all the major eastern campaigns. They were mustered out June 30, 1865.
