I have a question on the transcription of the Salem Lutheran church records, in this case, baptisms, of Lebanon. The LDS uses one transcription and there is another transcription used by the Lebanon County Historical Society. Does anyone know of the reliability of either of these transcriptions, as I found at one baptism, the difference in transcription makes a total difference of the sponsor present. Thanks. Regards, Donna Ristenbatt Hi Donna, I was told by an ex-niece, who is Morman, that each entry is typed by two people independent of each other. If they come up with different entries a third person is brought in. I don't know if I am accurate on this. I was told this years ago, long before I had an interest in genealogy.
