Dave, Jacob's birthplace and occupation are from his Civil War records. I also have a photo of him in his uniform. I think that he did, indeed come to this area to work on the canal because of the circumstantial info I have related. Jacob also applied for a CW pension, which coroborates much of what I had before that. He ended up dying in the Soldier's & Sailors Home in Erie. Judy
