"History of Dauphin and Lebanon Couties" - William Egle, 1883 (reprint) page 428 "Union Deposit was laid out by Philip Wolfersberger, July 30, 1845, and called Unionville. The survey was made by Samuel Hoffer, and the platting done by Jacob R. Hoffer. It comprised twenty-three lots. In the same year Isaac Hershey laid out some lots adjoining. The place, however, always went by the name of Union Deposit, from the fact of its being a deposit of all the grain produce, etc., of this region, preparatory to its shipment on the canal by Mr. Wolfersberger, who owned several boats." Should anyone desire more of this passage let me know. It isn't long. FYI - last week I walked over some of the cemetery at Union Deposit. It seems to be in pretty bad condition. Many stones broken and overturned. Beverly Walmer Wyld
