Hello, Does anyone have any ties to the Henning families of Lebanon Co.? My information points to the Jonestown area of the county. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone with information on any of these families. Thanks! --Jane Barr Torres jetorres@indiana.edu
Greetings, Sue, I should have written it in a textual form. Johann Heinrich Bucher, the son of Jacob Bucher and Anna Margaret (nee Schwink) Bucher, was born on 8 Jun 1747, and baptized on 5 Jul 1747; sponsored by Heinrich Keim. This is in the records of the Zion Moselem Lutheran Church in Richmond Twp, Berks Co, PA. Richard Thank you very much. This makes a lot of difference. I am sure this probably fits into the family, but I still have a lot of digging to do. This may help or may confuse you. On some tax lists the prison inmates were in a separate listing.
> Inmate-was a married man who didn't own property. He rented his > property and may have lived with his parents, other family members or on his own. There was just a long discussion of the term "Inmate" on another list, but I don't remember which one. I wasn't paying attention then. I have a female name from the Inmate list on some Chester County tax records, and the genealogist at the archives explained it as a non-landowner, head of household with taxables...probably a widow in this case. I have no idea if that's correct but wanted to clarify that it wasn't always males. Jodi Reifsnyder hijodi@home.com
Hi Donna, Cultivated-land cleared Uncultivated-land not cleared Houses-A person was taxed by how many houses and what kind he had on his property Lands-usually meant how many total acres that the landowner had Inmate-was a married man who didn't own property. He rented his property and may have lived with his parents, other family members or on his own. Landowners were also taxed by how many horses, sheep and cattle that they owned as well as the usual house and land. Hope this helps a little. As to "houssdenence" I have no idea what this could mean. The crossed out name on the one tax list could mean that your ancestor was deceased or moved or simply that the tax collector made a mistake. Good luck with your research. Alice Beard

Jonas Kreider Family of Lebanon Gang,I came across this Lebanon item being sold on e-bay's auction from Oregon Item #58031766 under General antiques Victorian photo album contains 32 cabinet card photos and 10 CDVs. The photos all appear to be from the same family (or relatives/friends) in and around the area of Lebanon, PA. The name "Jonas Kreider" is written in the album below one photo. I didn't take out the other pictures to see if other names are written on the backs of the photos. All spaces in the album are filled except for 6 CDV spaces. I didn't remove any photos from the album. It's just as I found it. The photos are mostly of children and young adults. Some of the young women are wearing jewelry; some of the men have watch fobs. Some are wearing glasses. There are no soldiers or scenes. The album cover is brown velvet with a raised flower pattern. The edges of the spine are somewhat frayed and the plush is a little worn down, otherwise cover is in good condition. The clasp is missing. The back has four metal buttons; one in each of the four corners of the album. A few of the interior pages have small tears in the photo spaces. The interior pages are relatively clean. Buyer pays $6.00 postage for 4th class postage. Buyer assumes liability for nondelivery unless extra is paid for insured 1st class mail. Price is at $49.50
