I am searching for the ancestors of Rheuvalen Adam Leiss (1858-1931), born in Bethel Township in Lebanon County, and his wife Hannah Mathilda Behney (1861-?).
Thanks for that info. I used the book at the NGS Library; as Linnea said, the book is at Higginson for $56.00. I wonder how well they handle the fold out trees on the reproduction. FWIW, Martin is said to be buried at Bindnagles Church Cemetery. That's where George was baptised, but the other children were apparently baptised elsewhere. Possibly at the Quitopahilla Hill (Lutheran) Church, where Elizabeth and Martin were married on 1 Oct 1771. (Marriage info confirmed on the LDS on-line IGI - my second hit!) The Lebanon Co Historical Society also has a copy of "The Long Family of PA". Just ask the volunteer to help you if you can't find it. I *think* I saw it last year on Higgenson Books web page. -Linnea At 18:10 4/1/99, Ekim44@aol.com wrote: >Elizabeth Huber is daughter of Andreas HUBER, my ggggg-grandfather. >Andreas's will identifies his daughter Elizabeth, wife of Martin Long. Hi! I am looking for information on my ancestor Anna Barbara Brechbill ca 1750 who married Johanes Mattias (Matthew) Strayer at Hill Church in Cleona in 1775. I'd love to hear from anyone researching this surname. I am also interested in finding out information and locations for Benedict Brechbill and Christian Brechbill. Does anyone have access to or know where I can find the records for the Hill Church Cemetery? Thanks for any help you can give me. Leigh Ann

Elizabeth Huber is daughter of Andreas HUBER, my ggggg-grandfather. Andreas's will identifies his daughter Elizabeth, wife of Martin Long. I haven't been able to find much on the Long (Lang) line. Where might I find a copy of the "History of the Long Family of Pennsylvania"? The HUBERs were in the Lebanon area for some time. I was able to get some information on the family in the Lebanon Historical Society and records of the old Salem Reformed Luthern Church taht were there.
I have finally connected my George Long as a son of Joh. Martin Lang. The page I copied from the "History of the Long Family of Pennsylvania" (Long Family Organization of Pennsylvania; 1930) has some info on most of Martin's children, but - as is always the case - only a name for George. Would like to hear from anyone connecting. Martin's children: 1 Joh. Martin Lang (1744 - 1833) & Elizabeth Huber (1751 - 1822) 2 Elizabeth Lang (1772 - ) 2 Eve Catharine Lang (1775 - ) & Jacob Goodman 2 Margaret Lang (1777 - ) & Francis Fox 2 Juliana Barbara Lang (1780 - ) 2 Christina Lang (1784 - ) & Frederick Ney 2 Jacob Lang (1791 - ) *2 George Lang (1794 - ) & Catharine /?/ The short - less than a page - on this family includes the statement: "Indications are that he [Martin] was a grandson of Christian Lang the Emigrant Ancestor in the forepart of this history, but his father's family has not been definitely determined." (Most of the info concerns a line of son Jacob, to wit: Martin Lang Jacob Lang Jacob Lang, Jr Samuel B. Long & Caroline Koontz Philip Sheridan Long & Amelia Spang) Thanks for any help, Charlie Parks Alexandria, VA
There are lots of Treons buried at the Altalaha church cemetery in Rehrersburg. It isn't all that far from Lebanon(Myerstown area). Bev
