Hello. I understand that these surnames are common in Lebanon County. I have little information about these ancestors so will post what I have and hope for luck that someone recognizes this Rhodes or Bender. Ann RHODES was of Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry as was her husband Jacob BENDER. She had a sister Margaret who was married to Judge Edwin B. Crocker, brother to Charles Crocker, one of the builders of the Central Pacific Railroad. Jacob and Ann lived for some time in Akron, OH, where they were farmers. They then moved to South Bend, IN, then Bell Creek, NE and on in May of 1863, they left for Virginia City, NV. Two of their sons were already in NV employed as telegraphers. Does anyone recognize Rhodes or Bender? Thank you, Stephanie Colorado
Good morning all! I hope this doesn't constitute SPAM to this group! I received this notice, checked it out, and signed up for my share. Check it out if you wish. The following is the message I sent to personal friends: This is a legit notice, but no guarantee that we will all get rich! This company is offering the POSSIBILITY of receiving free stock in the company IF they go public. It only seems reasonable to assume that if they are making this offer they have something in mind. You only have to note the value of stock offered on the market by other similar companies; i.e. Yahoo, E-Bay, etc., to realize this could have some value. It only takes a minute to fill out their form, and who knows... Click on the link below, and insert my Sponsor Reference number - 10187876 - where requested. Take a chance ! We may all retire rich! Good luck!
Hi Donna: I just had a message on last week about this same person. I would sure like to get it straightened out: Here is a question for all you Christ experts. I have found something that I would like some help with. As I have said before, I am searching for a William Christ (whatever the spelling). Recently I found out that his name is William Christ or Christy, born either 7/25/1801 or 7/25/1802. He was the son of a William Christ(y) and Elizabeth Miller, married at Stouchsburg, in 1801. I found a Joh Georg Wilhelm Guseman married to an Anna Catharina Heckin, 11/12/1749 at Stouchsburg. It lists him with the birth records of two children. (Anna Margaretha and Joh George) There is also a George Adam Geiss listed with the birth record of a child. (Heinrich Adam) I found in Strassburger & Hinke that there were two by that name on the Snow Molly, John Cranch, Master, 10/26/1741; Hans Adam Cresman, age 17 and Yerigh Wilhelm Geesman, age 23. Could they be the same two that are at Stouchsburg? I have a Hans Adam and Johann George Christ, at Stouchsburg, as the children of Johannes Christ married to Anna Barbara Muller. I have him listed on the Pa Prelist 7/11/1726. That would mean Adam and George would not have been listed on the ship records because they were not old enough. So who are these people on the Snow Molly? How many early Adam's and George's attended this church? I thought I had things figured out with them and now I am confused. Which Adam and George are brothers at Stouchsburg? Who are my new Adam and Georg or William, which ever name he went by, and who are the Adam and George that went to York. Which two were on the Robert and Alice in 1742? I have alot of information on these people, I just want to make sure I have it with the right people. If anyone knows anything about these people, I would appreciate hearing. I would like to hash this thing out. Thanks, Brenda I am sure we are talking about the same people, maybe you can shed some light on my question and I'll do some more searching and see what I come up with for the name Killian. I know it sounds familiar. Thanks, Brenda
My apologies everyone, I was transfering the addresses from one pc to another and I clicked a little early. Sorry. Joe

Dear People I am happy to report that the Hans and Hannah Wenger web site has been updated. The site now has over 142,000 names. Many corrections have been made and new individuals added. There are still some un-corrected early Kreider relationships that I hope to get to at next update. Please let me know if you find errors. General access is via http://www.wengersundial.com/wengerfamily This access gives name of people born prior to 1900. There is another access point that gives all names in the database. I provide that access point to those who are related to individuals in the database or who have contributed to the database. I thank all of you who have contributed over the past years. I expect to have another update sometime in the fall. The site now has a page giving details of this year's Wenger/Winger/Wengert/Wengerd/Wingert/Wingerd/Wingard/Whanger family reunion in Akron, PA. All interested in the family are welcome. Please enjoy. Dan Wenger

Donna, Try this URL. http://www.oplin.lib.oh.us/index.cfm?ID=3§ion=Discover%2520Ohio It seems that Congress sold land in this area to raise money. Some land in Ohio was given to Revolutionary War Veterans. There is too much for me to read about right now. Enjoy.
