    1. [PALEBANO-L] Egle's Notes & Queries
    2. I think that I purchased my set of books from the Southwest Pennsylvania Genealogical Company. This doesn't sound quite right but I can't put my find on a more accurate name right now. The basics are there. The reprint date in the book is 1970 but I know it was the early eighties when I ordered my set. Beverly Walmer Wyld

    1. Re: [PALEBANO-L] Swatara to Hanover, PA
    2. Charlie Parks
    3. Hanover Township, Dauphin County was formed in 1739. From this, East and West Hanover were formed in 1785 and South Hanover was formed in 1842. Plus, East Hanover was split when Lebanon County was formed, part remaining in Dauphin, part going to the new Lebanon County. Many of the documents dated after the breakup still refer to the entire area as Hanover. This may be the area your ancestor was traveling from. 1. Re: [PALEBANO-L] Swatara to Hanover, PA
    2. Fredericksburg and Lickdale are north of Lebanon, with Fredericksburg being very close to the border with current Berks County. Lickdale is right near US Rt 72, north of Lebanon, before you pass under US I-81. Near Fort Indiantown Gap. Hanover might be the Hanover in York County - you would pass through Lickdale enroute to Fredericksburg, traveling from Southwest to East. I have ancestors (many of them) from the Lickdale/Fredericksburg/Hamlin area of Lebanon County. 2. rrussell
    3. In response to a question about identifying the parents of my Grandmother Bomberger, who died in Lebanon in 1952, someone was helpful to suggest that a copy of the death certificate should include their names. I have also run into a blockage trying to identify the parents of my Great Great Grandfather, William Russell, who died in Pine Grove Township on February 25, 1895. Did the counties issue formal death certificates in the late 1890's which might include their names? If so, should I contact an agency in Pine Grove or Pottsville? Thanks for any help on this question. Dick Russell rrussell@inta.org
