    1. [PALEBANO-L] John and Mary Miller Eby
    2. Becky Richards
    3. Hi everyone! I'm looking for the parents of Mary Miller, b. July 17, 1800 in Lebanon County. She was married to John Eby (b. May 27, 1786 in Lebanon County)in 1819. I'm also looking for 2 of their 7 children (I have Moses, Henry, Lydia, Lovina, and Mary), and the 5 children of John Eby and his first wife, Catarina Lang (married 1809). I know John was from Jackson Township, and moved to Illinois in 1850, but I don't know exactly where Mary or Catarina were from. If anyone could help me out here, I'd be incredibly greatful. :) Becky _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Visit http://www.msn.com

    1. Re: [PALEBANO-L] Zion Evangelical Lutheran, Jonestown
    2. The real old graves were moved when construction was begun on building addition to church. Some of the graves weren't in good condition, so they mass buried the graves under the foyer in the side of the Sunday School Room. There is a book in the foyer that lists the names buried under the foyer. Some of the graves they did move to cemetery that were in good condition. Connie

    3. "Stauffer's graveyard" in the obituary of reference likely refers to the cemetery slightly to the west and slightly up a hill from Stauffer's Mennonite Church, north of Bachmanville. To reach the place, go to Campbelltown on U.S. Rt. 322 at the west edge of Lebanon County. Turn south on Locust Street, across from the bank on West Main Street; continue past Miller Road (goes off to the right) and then drive straight up the the hill on Township Road 335 soon after Miller Road where the main road veers to the left and continue a mile or two until Stauffer's Church cones into view on the left. The cemetery is NOT in easy view until you get to the church, turn around and look up the hill. Stauffer's Church and cemetery are just over the line from Lebanon County into Derry Twp. of Dauphin County, but people there often relate socially more to Lebanon Co than to Dauphin Co. I should hope the Derry Twp Historical Society people will soon complete their records of this cemetery. It's an old place. Cordially, Karl E. Moyer Lancaster PA

I can send a picture if you want. As with most of the Reformed > Churches, there is a Lutheran Church just a few hundred feet from Klopp's. > The two churches share the same cemetery. Klopp's Church was a union church, Lutheran and Reformed. St. Paul's Reformed (now U.C.C.) split from the Klopp's Reformed congregation in the 19th century in some sort of squabble. The national U.C.C. directory lists St. Paul's founding date as 1752, but I'm not sure if the "original" congregation moved to the "new" and separate building across the street and up a slight hill, leaving a "new" congregation to remain in the old Klopp's building, or whether the "original" congregation stayed in the old place and a break-away congregation established St. Paul's church in the "new" brick building. It could be that the latter occurred but that the newly-merged congregation dates herself from the original founding date. Perhaps someone else can clarity this history. Somewhere ca. 1950's a wall of the old stone Klopp's Church collapsed during a construction job, requiring the entire building to be razed. I believe it was at that time that the two Reformed congregations get back together and in the "new" brick building of the 19th century, leaving the Lutherans to erect a new building on the old Klopp's site by themselves. I don't know the current status of the Lutheran congregation. Cordially, Karl E. Moyer Lancaster PA

    1. [PALEBANO-L] Stauffers graveyard
    2. Blauch, David
    3. I recently located the death record at the Lebanon County Courthouse for an ancestor who died in 1905 in Annville. The record indicates he was buried in the Stauffer graveyard. Does anyone know which cemetery this might refer to? I'm not aware of any graveyard named "Stauffers" in Lebanon County. I tried to find an obituary or funeral notice for this person, hoping that the cemetery might be more fully identified. Unfortunately, I could not find anything relevant in the Lebanon Daily News. This fellow lived much of his life in the Elizabethtown area, so "Stauffers" might not refer to a Lebanon County graveyard. (In fact, I was somewhat surprised to find that he died in Annville.... Perhaps it was on a trip?) I looked in the Lancaster County Churches and Cemeteries book, but I didn't see any "obvious" cemeteries for the immediate area around Elizabethtown either. Thanks for any ideas. Dave Blauch dablauch@davidson.edu

    3. Nan, Klopp's Reformed Church is currently named St. Paul's (Klopp's) Union Church. That is taken from the cornerstone of the church that stands there today. I can send a picture if you want. As with most of the Reformed Churches, there is a Lutheran Church just a few hundred feet from Klopp's. The two churches share the same cemetery. It is located one or two miles SE of Fredericksburg in Lebanon Co, PA. It might be in Bethel Twp. The Lebanon Co. Historical Society has lots of information on the church. I have many ancestors buried in the cemetery there. There is another church you might want to check. It is St Jacob's (Kimmerling's) Reformed Church. It is just a few miles south of Klopp's Reformed.
