Sandy, I found a book Christian Forrer The Clockmaker and his Descendants by Frank Bruen that is about this family. It states the parents of Christian Forrer were Daniel Fuhrer and Anna Engel. Christian was born in Nidau, Switzerland in 1737 and his brothers Johannes, Daniel and sister Christina emmigrated to Pa. and settled in Lancaster. Christian and Elizabeth Kendrick Forrer had four sons all born in Lancaster: Henry b 1761 Daniel b 1763 Christian b 1765 Samuel b 1773 From there I only have the info on Daniel. He married Barbara Smith, the daughter of John Smith of Lebanon Co. Their children: Anna b 1790 m Daniel Brubacher Catharine b 1793 m John Jacob Mark Christina b 1795 m George Shott Henry m Anna Noecher Mary b 1799 m John Bowman Veronica b 1801 m Joseph Bowman The above all married at the Tabor Reformed Church. Hope this helps. Sue ____
Sue Thanks for your reply. I have found some info on the Smith/Forrer connection but so far have not been able to tie it in to my line. There is a Johannes Forrer book which I have a photo copy of and I've also found it on line at Forry Genealogyhave you seen it? My line is John Forry who married "Polly" Maria Spangler. That is where my brick wall starts. Because the earlier part of this book doesn't prove out to courthouse records. Anything to prove who John's parents and grandparents where would be appreciated. Sandy
Karen, I have visited the Tabor church and they were very helpful. We gave a small donation and recieved several pages on our ancestors. I don't have the address but it is at 10th and Walnut St. in the city of Lebanon. Sue Bowman Ramsey, Mn. ____

I am very interested to know if actual church records exist for a Tabor Reformed Church in Lebanon County? The book," Pennsylvania Births, Lebanon County, 1714-1800" by John T. Humphrey, published in 1996, contains a piece of data, and would like to know his source. The birth of my g-g-g-g-grandfather, John Jacob Balsley is recorded in this book: "John Jacob-- date, September 14, 1775 to John and Magaretha Balsle. Source: Tabor Reformed Chruch in Lebanon." I would greatly appreciate anyone letting me know if an actual copy of this record can be obtained/ Thank you very much for your time. Karen Klaene <benklaene@compuserve.com> Cincinnati,OH
Sue Have you ever found an answer to your Bowman & Forrer query? I have seen your query several places and although I have no answers I'm very interested because I have a Forrer/Forry line in the Berks & Lebanon Co. area myself. Thanks Sandy
I have George BOWMAN/BAUMAN b 1758 m Catharine ZINN. There is a record of christening 22 Oct 1758 of Joh. I noticed a GETTEL family in one of my Alleman files today, and remembered the queries I've been seeing on the list. I'm not certain this branch of the family lived in Lebanon Co., but I do know that many members of the Alleman family can be found in Lebanon Co. I wasn't sure if it was legal to copy the information and e-mail it to the list - not sure how all those copyright laws work. The file can be viewed and downloaded for free, but is for sale in book form. The website can be found at "http://az.fh.org/rjh/gen/", and the names it lists are Samuel born in the early 1800's; wife, Mary; and children Margaret, Jacob, Martha, Barbara, Christian, Sarah, Emma, Malinda, Clara, John, Amanda and Fannie. Husbands and dates of birth and death are also listed. Happy hunting! Shari
Looking for info on John Reigle b. 8/22/1822 -- believe somewhere in Lebanon or Berks County. He was married to Rebecca (Margaret?) last name unknown. She was born 2/3/1826 and died 1/31/1907. Both are buried in Bowerman St. Paul's Church of Enterline, Dauphin County, PA. (This is in the Halifax area.) I haven't been able to locate John's parents, and I know there were a lot of Riegel's that migrated from the Lebanon and Tulpehocken areas of PA. I just haven't been able to connect anywhere. Their children were Elizabeth, b. 1850, Nathan b. 1852, Aaron b. 1853 (my line), and Mary b. 1858. I have info to share on Aaron and descendants. Would appreciate anything you have regarding the rest of the family. I have the Riegell to Riggle book, just waiting to be able to connect somewhere -- help me please! Thanking you in advance. Susan
