I am trying to find evidence of the Rhan line through Lebanon in the 1880's. Any help would be appreciated. John C. L. RHAN b. 1858 d. 1911 Jane E. RICHARD(S) b. 1860 d1920's They had 10 children that I'm aware of. They attended a German-speaking congregation in Lebanon proper. I have many details to share if anyone is interested. I believe that John is the son of William H. RHAN, who was born in 1808. They seemed to have worked the canals. I am researching the following families: RHAN/WOLFERSBERGER/HOHENSCHILT/EMMERICH/MEREDITH/MCCREA/HAIR/SHUEY Jon Rhan ============================================================ Jon Rhan mailto:jrhan@viewlogic.com Corporate Applications Engineer Viewlogic Systems Inc. 293 Boston Post Road West Marlboro, MA 01752-4615 800-223-8439 x5262 www.viewlogic.com Support: mailto:Systems-Support@Viewlogic.com ============================================================

Donna - just go to this address and enter the name of the list, in this case PALEBANO-L, click 'Submit' and it will go to the actual page for Lebanon archives, then enter your search string. http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl There is nothing about a password here, but there is for the 'threaded archives' which are a whole different thing and one that I know nothing about so I am not the one to ask. I think this will do what you want. Jan der@redrose.net wrote: > > Can someone give me the address (URL) for the Archives of our mailing > list? I've also been researching the Brightbill line. Elisabeth, daughter or John Adam Harper & Anna Catharina Bassler of East Hanover Twp, Lebanon Co (Harpers Tavern) m Henry Brightbill. No confirmed dates on either, but Elisabeth would probably have been born between 1765 and 1771. No further data on either one. Judy Strickler PBLLS@aol.com
I too am researching the Brightbill/Brechtbill/etc line. My connection is a Rebecca Brechtbill (b. ca. 1807-8) who married a Michael Snyder. I've assembled quite a bit of information on the Brechtbill families. It appears that there are several different, quite possibly unrelated, families in the Lebanon-Dauphin County area. Dave Blauch dablauch@davidson.edu

Hi, I guess we should pool all our info on the Brechbiel family. Using the FTM site I found a Hans Nicholas Brechbiel b. 1733 who married Maria Julianna Dillar/Thaeler. They has sons Peter in 1760 and John in 1762, plus 10 more children. My Ann Margaretha was born in 1764 and named her first daughter, Julianna...strong suggestion that she may be the daughter of Hans Nicholas as well. Anybody else have info on this line? I borrowed the LDS film for Salem Lutheran Church in Lebanon Co. a few months ago. There were quite a few records with Brechbiel names. Mar. 26, 1799 Michael Brechbiel married Anna Hohm Nov. 19, 1799 John " m. Molly Wolfe June 3, 1800 Julianna " m. George Frolich Dec. 21, 1801 Fredrich " m. Anna Maria Nailer/Naily? I'm new to this and trying to find ALLEMAN, DEININGER and WENGART in North Annville area. Land maps from North Annville show property owned by Leonard, Henry and Benjamin ALLEMAN and a DEININGER sawmill. I've been told two of the ALLEMAN brothers married DEININGER sisters and moved to Illinois about 1864. The area around Tonica, Illinois in LaSalle County has many ALLEMAN families living there. Benjamin ALLEMAN born 16 Mar 1836 in Lebanon Co., married Nancy WENGART, born 20 Aug 1843. They had four sons; Henry Benjamin, born 1861 in Lebanon Co., Martin H. and Amos M born in Hennepin, Putnam County. Illinois, and Leonard P, born 1869 in Granville, Illinois. Henry B. ALLEMAN married Agnes DEININGER about 1881. They had 9 children. Their fifth child, Charles Martin ALLEMAN was my father-in-law. He married Rose LINDSAY. Her father was the chief-of-police in Portland City, now Oglesby, Illinois. The message from shariL100 was the first time I had seen the ALLEMAN name on line. Thank you. Hi Nola My Brightbill line has dead ended in 1849 with Jeremiah Brightbill so I am not sure of any earlier connection. Hi all - I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but a word to the wise - I believe this is what is called a 'vanity publication' - the people paid to be in it. What is there is what they wanted known. I further believe that the person/people who actually wrote it were not real journalists and not as careful as one would like. I have the SHULTZ article from there and I have found to my cost that some of what it says is plain not true. This does not mean that none of it is true; some of it certainly is. It means keep your saltshaker handy, especially if you find that it disagrees with information from elsewhere. Jan
Hi Would it be too much to ask that when you respond to a request like this more than generous offer, that you would send your request to the writer instead of the list? Much more courteous and I would surely appreciate it... Thanks Susie
