    3. John, do you know when this church was started? I have been looking through a lot of LDS microfilm on churches in Lebanon Co. trying to find evidence of my ancestor Balthasar Eberhardt's children being baptized. He was there from approx. 1775 through 1782 before moving on to Rockingham Co., VA. I don't remember looking at this church on microfilm. 2. Thanks a lot. My grandmother had mentioned some of these names sometimes, but never with connections. Unless she has pictures of entire family members together she doesn't always remember which children belonged with which parents. And it is my grandmother who was the neice of this Moses & Amy Light. I met Amy once this past summer when I took my grandmother up to visit her sisters. My g-grandmother was also in Cedar Haven until 1994. Natalie J. Seiwell

    3. According to the Myerstown Bicentenniel History "Trinity Tulpehocken (German) Reformed Church is "the spiritual Plymouth rock of this area and community". It is also known as the "Feast of the Roses" church. Jackson Township was formed in 1813 at the same time that Lebanon county was formed from parts of Dauphin and Lancaster counties. The beautiful church (I just visited there two weeks ago for the first time) is in the town of Millardsville, still Jackson Township, Lebanon Co., and can be seen from US RT 422 just before crossing into Berks county. The church once served an area of an over 10 mile radius until the present building (remodeled in 1900) and the "branch edifice" at Myerstown were built in the early 1850s. I have come to learn that the entire area that follows the Tulpehocken Creek from the Schuylkill through Berks into Lebanon county is known freely as the "Tulpehocken", and the name (from the Susquehanna-Delaware >Lenape< word for "land of the turtles") is found throughout the region across the counties. Towns (Myerstown was originally "Tulpehockentown"), townships (there is a "Tulpehocken Township" in Berks county), and areas/migrations ("Tulpehocken Settlement") refering to the early 1700 German emigration from New York, ("Tulpehocken Manor & Plantation") a 1960-80s bed and breakfast ranch estate on 422, etc. - JL

    3. You can also purchase a book on the burials from the Tulpehocken Settlement historical society in Womelsdorf, Berks county,Pa 116 North Front street,Womelsdorf ,Pa 19567. The society is recording all the Tulpehocken area cemeteries and publishing the books to purchase and they are only around $15.00 and that is CHEAP for all the info and time it takes to transcribe an entire cemetery. 3. This church is east of Myerstown, Lebanon County, PA. From Myerstown you go East on Route 422 and the Church and cemetery are near where the road to Richland branches off to the right. The Lebanon County Historical Society has some of the church's old records. 1. Re: [PALEBANO] LAW surname lookup
    2. Cricket, Another possibility, suggested by my husband is--if you are talking mid 1900s Robert Mumma, a state representative had an office on Mulberry Street before Crescent, in Harrisburg, "on the hill". Perhaps that would have been referred to as Mumma's hill as he had a lot of "clout". Joyce Barnhart

    1. Re: [PALEBANO] LAW surname lookup
    2. Cricket, Perhaps you have the wrong name, maybe a similar spelling such as Mumma? Maybe the hill was named after a family living close by? There were Mumma's living outside Middletown and Highspire. I have lived in the Harrisburg area all my life & have never heard of mummy's hill. Joyce Barnhart
