Lebanon Daily News, Saturday Evening, July 8, 1876 The funeral of Miss Maria Miller took place this morning. The body was conveyed to the depot for the 8:45 train for Reading, where it will be buried. The Patrons of Husbandry attended the funeral in a body. Rev. Dr. J. F. Reinmund, four pall bearers chosen from the Patrons of Husbandry and friends, accompanied the corpse to Reading.
And people STILL do something similar. Remember all the warnings about pouring gasoline or lighter fluid on barbeques to start the fire? Marlene. Thank you for posting these. They are very interesting. How often have persons been warned not to use coal oil for the purpose of making a fire burn rapidly. Another warning is this to women to refrain from using coal oil in starting fires. > > ==== PALEBANO Mailing List ==== > Lebanon County Historical Society Home Page: > <http://www.lebanonhistory.org>
Looking to share information on Mark/Merck/Merki genealogy. Thanks you, Jim Mark
Hi List, Anyone have information of the following family listed in the 1870 Lebanon Co., census? Union Twp, Union Forge (Now Lickdale) (they were all born in PA) Young James 50 Laborer Young Amelia 39 keeping house Young Roufus 19 Young James Albert 12 Young Alice Amelia 9 Young Lizzie 7 Young Henry Monroe 5/12 page 438A, image 31
Thanks for the answer. I am trying to figure out why Leonard settled in Pa. when he came to America from Wurttenberg. Usually the person has family living where they first immigrate. I am also curious to know why they left Pa. for Chgo. He worked in the Steel Mills in Chgo. However there were Steel mills right there in Pa. So why leave. I also wanted to know if Leonard Syler had family in Lebanon County, was that the reason he changed his name from Sailer to Syler when he entered the Civil War? Was it because they changed their names. Oh so many unanswered questions. He was married to Catherine Yingst, daughter of John Yingst and Sarah Ann Gockley, granddaughter of Johan Yingst and Sarah Krall, Great granddaughter of Jacob Yingst and Christina Ellinger.

Hi All-my name is Krismarie. I am new to the list-my research has taken me to 1776 in Lebanon, Cumberland Street and Walnut Alley, where my ancestor sold his property. His name was Theobald Bisch-but it has been spelled Tiewald Pisth, Diebold Bish, Dewalt Bish, and Busch. He emigrated from Preuschdorf/Rittershoffen, Alsace, France in 1770 on the ship Minerva. He went to Salem Lutheran Church in Lebanon, with his wife Elizabeth (Anna Elizabeth Bintz). He moved to Virginia in the late 1770s (because of the war?) where his son Frederick served with the VA militia. I can do lookups in the book "18th Century Emigrants from the Northern Aslace to America" by Annette Kunselman Burgert. Krismarie
So do I my mother was an Edris. Will share information, if I have any thing that will help. Sandy
Rex I think we may have corresponded before, what Edris/Etris are you looking for? I also have Edris....Sandy
