Hi John, I did not realize that original message on the Leb list was you. However, did you see someone else chimed in about the Shultz connection? Hi list here is what I know of Nancy 'Anna' Schultz/Shuls: Johns Young and Anna Shuls were married at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lebanon, on Oct 18 1846. The record states that Johan Jung was from Annville and Anna was from North Annville. They are buried in Ebenezer Cemetery. According to dates on his tombstone, John was born March 3, 1824, and died April 6, 1869. He was a carpenter by occupation . Anna (Schultz) Young was the daughter of Christian and Elizabeth Schultz. She was born June 14, 1827 and died Oct. 30, 189? It is believed that Anna/Nancy's father is the Christian Schultz, born May 31, 1786, died Dec 10, 1870 who is buried at Sattazahn's Church, Union Twp. > > Subject: > Re: [PALEBANO] Re: John YOUNG (b. 1824) > From: > "karen" <[email protected]> > Date: > Thu, 6 Feb 2003 15:48:23 -0500 > To: > [email protected] > > >Hi >What do you know about Nancy Shultz dau of Christian Shultz? >I think this is my great grandmother who was married to John Young? >Karen > >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Donald Lerew" <[email protected]> >To: <[email protected]> >Sent: Monday, December 16, 2002 8:13 AM >Subject: [PALEBANO] Re: John YOUNG (b. 1824) > > > > >>John, >> >>I was finally getting around to entering some YOUNG information the other >>day (that I received from you and from others). Try contacting or finding a copy of the Records of the Hill (Quittapahila)Lutheran Church of Annville, available LDS, some libraries. Lebanon County Hist Society has it. My Hill Church book of burials shows 20 Yingst's buried there, which suggests that may be a good place to start.
I have a Schultz connection also. If you know that they were Lutheran than find a Lutheran church near you and ask the pastor to look up in his annual list of churches in USA a church in or near Annville. Then write the church and ask if they have their baptisms. Or write to Lutheran headquarters for a list of churches in PA or Lebanon Co and the dates they were formed. Then write to churches in or near Annville who have existed at that time. If a church has ceased, the records were probably sent to Gettysburg College and Seminary where there are Lutheran archives. Hello, Can anyone help me in how to go about obtaining birth dates for people born in Annville, Pa. during the 1800's? The wife was of Lutheran religion. I have thrown these names out there before and no one except Linnea Miller was able to help me. I have in the past contacted the local government offices but they did not have records that early. I tried contacting the Lutheran Church headquarters but they were of no help. Records would be for: Leonard or Leonhardt Syler (Sailer) and wife Catherine Yingst. They had 8 children. dates start 1859 through 1883. Place of residence was Annville, PA. Can anyone help me please? Thanks Bonnie

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you. I suddenly ended up with 900+ messages on my email and I've been back tracking ever since trying to answer them. I imagine you got the same email as I did this a.m. giving a good history of the Rank family. This was in addition to one several days ago. I think it was geri who sent them. Noah is not in my line, and I'm afraid I haven't yet branched out to siblings. I have been looking in vain for clues as to my Elliotts in Lebanon Co. Now, in a casual conversation I was told by a nephew that, yes, he had been taken to a cemetery just outside the city of Lebanon were many Elliotts were buried. Can anyone tell me the name of that cemetery? Is there a listing on Internet of internments? Thanks for any help you can give. Cathy

I think Wolf Union Cemetery was associated with the Brethren Church. Many people who attended the Brethren Church are buried there, some from the Little Swatara Congregation. Sandy
For someone born that long ago you might be able to get information from Vital Records. Probably a look-up fee and bureaucrats are not genealogists so their look-ups may be less thorough than you would like (at least that was my experience in VA). However, you would probably not run into them being labeled top secret as if they were adoptees. In VA, you have to explain your relationship to the deceased -- don't know about PA -- except that I can't get my birth certificate because they issued two for me, the real one and a fake one that I have to use because I am adopted.
