    1. [PALEBANO] will of John Tobias Upper Bern Twp, Berks Co, PA
    2. This was sent to me reguarding the will, I neglected to include the date the will was written at the top: March 22nd 1841. I replied to him and also noted to him that John's wife, Catharine died the day after the will was probated. John died 16 Dec 1876, will was proved 26 Jan 1877 and Catharine died 27 Jan 1877. Catharine was supposedly the 3rd wife. All the children listed on the will are not hers. Benjamin, Levi, his twin sister who died in infancy and Lovina all were Catharine's. Hope this helps to clarify things a little bit. Sorry for neglecting to add that date. The last part of my message before that is below was on the outside page of the will. Crystal This gives the appearance that the will was dated January 1877 even though we show John dying December, 1876. The following provides the December date but it's not clear to me whether this refers to John or to his exectutor who died--and this date picked up as John's   Will of John Tobias Proved Jan. 26th AD 1877 and Letters of Testamentary in (Common??) form were granted unto William K. Haag the Executor in the will named having first been duly qualified there to died in the Township of Upper Bern on the 16th day of December AD 1876 at between 5 & 6 o'clock AM

    1. [PALEBANO] will of John Tobias Upper Bern Twp, Berks Co, PA (very long)
    2. This is the will of John TOBIAS son of Jacob and Barbara (DEGLER) TOBIAS. Some words I could not make out so put them in ( ). John is my 3rd Great Grandfather. I am through John's son, Benjamin. I believe Jacob above noted is the son of immigrant Hans Jost TOBE but have not yet been able to confirm this. John supposedly had 3 wives and 21 children. I know of one other wife: Margaretha (Rebecca) HOFNER/HEFFNER. Another possibly wife is Maria ALTHOUSE daughter of Daniel ALTHOUSE but I have been unable to confirm that John is mine. John was born 25 Sep 1790 in Berks Co, PA. Looking for any info that will help to confirm or deny these things. Also looking for info on John's descendants. Sorry for those seeing it more than once. 1. [PALEBANO] Henry Gingrichs
    2. Richard A B
    3. Barb: I think that Henry Gingrich was from E. Hanover Twp., Dauphin Co. Katharine Bordener must have either married him there, or met him there originally, moved to Berks, and then gone back there to marry him in E. Hanover. In the 1870 census index I found two possibilities for that Henry Gingrich, both on succeeding pages in E. Hanover, Dauphin Co.: -One on p. 52 ae 65 b. c. 1805 -One on p. 53 ae 57 b. c. 1813 One was possibly m on 1-17-1832 to an Elizabeth Landis, and perhaps the other was married to that Katharine Bordener. But you'd have to take a look at the actual census to tell the names of the spouses given in the 1870 census to see if these are the two Henrys there. ---Richard ----- Original Message ----- From: "geri brennan" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, June 04, 2003 3:12 PM Subject: [PALEBANO] Re:Bordener/Weaver - Light/Witmeyer > Lebanon Co. 1. [PALEBANO] Henry F*rst, born about 1787, died after 1860
    2. Henry Ferst may be my ancestor. Does anyone know anything about him? My gg grandparents Magdalena Farst (9 Feb 1823 - 10 Apr 1893) and Jacob Brecht (12 Feb 1819 - 30 Jan 1898) lived in Schaefferstown and are buried there. Their daughter Mary Ann (24 May 1847 - 9 Aug 1847) is buried a short distance from them. There is a record of a gravestone for Magdalena Ferst (4 Jan 1786 - 27 May 1844) We did not find that gravestone, but near Mary Ann's is a gravestone too weathered to read that may be Magdalena Ferst, 1860 census, Schaefferstown, living with the family of Jacob and Magdalena Brecht is Henry Fearst, age 74. 1850 census Schaefferstown, living in a Hotel run by Leonard and Margaret Seltzer is Henry Ferst, age 62, laborer, born in Pennsylvania. Indexes to the 1840 census that I have seen list no one named Henry F*rst in Lebanon County. (However, indexers seem to overlook my ancestors frequently) Any help would be appreciated. Cynthia
