    2. Richard Berkheiser
    3. Hi everyone! By now I’m sure everyone has heard the sad news Rootsweb Mailing Lists will be disabled March 2, 2020. All lists will be archived for future researchers. Today I wanted to extend an Invitation to join our nearly 800 members strong Facebook group Pennsylvania Dutch Life. Debra Orner and I decided to welcome all of the list users to come over and join us! We discuss a little bit of everything. PA Dutch culture and heritage, area history, announcements of local events, and genealogical topics. Below is the link. https://www.facebook.com/groups/107084541429/?epa=SEARCH_BOX All we ask is your Facebook profile have a face picture. Hope to see you soon! Rick B PADL Group Owner and Admin

    1. ([PALEBANO])Re: Kreider Family of Lebanon County
    2. I'm not a Kreider researcher, but it may help if you find John was a Johannes, a "true" John. . Other sons may have been named John (whatever). Those sons were called by the whatever nameand not John.  Early researchers mixed it up, and erroneously listed sons named John whowere actually known and called by their second name. 1. ([PALEBANO]) Schürch Family Reunion - July 27-29, 2018 - Lewisburg, PA
    2. Justin Houser
    3. Many folks in Lebanon County and nearby areas are descended from the Swiss Schürch Family. The name became Shirk, Sherrick, Sherk, and other variants after many Schürchs settled in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties in the 1700s. Our Schürch Reunion (held every two years between the USA and Canada) will be held in Lewisburg, PA this July 27-29, with bus tours of significant family history sites where descendants of the Lancaster and Lebanon Schürchs settled in the late 1700s, including the Houserville area and the Bald Eagle Valley area of Centre County, cemeteries in Western Union County and the Shirk Dairy Farm near Millmont, and Shirk sites in the Lost Creek area of Juniata County. We will have family history talks and a family banquet at the Country Cupboard restaurant in Lewisburg. Distant relatives from Canada and Switzerland will be joining us, and over 100 people are registered to come already. If you've been to the reunions before, this will be a new experience with new family sites and many new cousins joining us. And if you've never been to a reunion before, it would be great to meet many other distant relatives! Information on how to register for the reunion is at this link. https://www.schurchfamilyassociation.net/reunions Justin Houser

    3. Below is a news article about moving gravesites at the old Zion Lutheran Church in York, Pennsylvania. The agencies involved would like to contact descendents of those buried there. I contacted Kim Hogeman, point of contact for the search and she sent me the names and links for photos of each grave stone. What she sent me was an attachment PDF, which I copied and inserted below. I don't have any connections to those buried in the sites to be moved, but some of you who subscribed to these lists may have a connection.
