1. [PALAWREN] What's new at the PALawrence site
2. The response to our call for surnames, cemetery listings and war heroes has been great. (Please keep them coming.) Thanks so much to everyone who's sent something in. Here are some new things just added to the site - www.rootsweb.com/~palawren Cemetery pages. We've compiled enough headstone listings to add some new pages to our cemetery list: Slippery Rock Presbyterian Cemetery, Savannah Cemetery, Pleasant Cemetery, Oak Park Cemetery, North Plain Grove Cemetery, Mt. Hernon Cemetery, Hopewell Cemetery, Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, Greenwood Cemetery, Graceland Cemetery, Fair Oaks Cemetery, Eastbrook United Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Castle View Memorial Park, and Booher Cemetery. Several of these have only a few listings. But, I'm sure they'll fill up soon. Also, feel free to send in cemetery listings, even if we don't have the cemetery listed yet. It will get added soon. You can reach these cemeteries from the cemetery link on the main page. New Photos! Photos of Ann Price Hammond, Joseph Hammond, John W. and Catherine Mosley White, sent in by Judy Frates. Also, a photo of Andrew Fehrenbach, Jr., sent in by Bea Mansfield. And, the 6th grade class at Highland School (year unknown - about the 1930s, I think). All the students in the photo are identified, see what you think. If you have a photo you'd like to see added - just email it to me (or snail mail it - contact me for the address). Also, Tami McConahy send in two really nice photos of the Eastbrook United Presbyterian Church and Cemetery and the Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church. You can reach these two photos from the cemetery page. Ancestral Heroes. This has been a busy section. We've added John William Thomas for the Civil War and about 150 more heroes - mostly from the Civil War, but a few are from the other wars. Check out the link to the beginning of our military section - it's on the right sidebar of the main page. (Also, you may be able to supply more information on some of these heroes - we could use your help.) Pulaski School Souvenir from 1900. An interesting item - it lists the teacher, board members of the 1900-1901 school year. View the school souvenir from the main page. Obituaries. Lots of activity on the query and obituary boards! New obits have been added for: Robert H. Wilson, Mary Gott Tanner, Isabell Tanner, Thomas Braden McConahy, John Herman McConahy, James Ward McConahy, Martha Elvira McConahy McClymans, William Cartwright, Florence Mateer Cartwright, Mrs. J. W. Boots, and Leanders S. Robison. Thanks to S. Slater and Ralph J. Martin. Reach these from the obituaries page. These will all have the flashing "new" sign next to the name. And, speaking of the data boards. We have a new page.... "Queries and Data Boards" this groups all the data boards together in one place - queries, obituaries, birth, marriage, biographies, death, bible records, wills, deeds, and pensions. Reach this page from the right side bar of the main page. And.... as promised ... the beginning of our surnames list. Reach it from the middle column of the main page. If you haven't sent in the surnames you're researching, don't worry, the list will be continuously updated - about once a week. So, when you get a chance stop by the site and send them in. Also, several broken links were pointed out to me (oops - hanging head in shame, here). They should be fixed now. If you find any others (and I hope you don't), just let me know. That's it for now. If you have any comments or questions about the site - of have anything you'd like to add, just let me know. Teri USGenWeb coordinator for Lawrence, Mercer and Crawford counties
