Hi folks, I am new to the list and want to introduce my PA ancestors. All info is from notes that Grandma BLACK wrote on the backs of photos. Most were from around New Castle, PA. One set of PA GGgrandparents were: Ezekial R. SANKEY and Ann Duncan Cox SANKEY from New Castle, PA. They had 3 daughters: (birth order not known, born 1840-1850 ...) 1-Olive Jane SANKEY m. Wm. P. DAVIS They had 2 daughters who married into HILDEBRANT and BOOK, and a DAVIS son. 2-Edice Florence SANKEY m. Judson Cary NORRIS They had 2 daughters who married into COLGATE and BROWN, and a NORRIS son. 3-Bessie Rosalie SANKEY m. George Wilson GREENE They had 2 daughters, Francis Olive GREENE (unmarried), and Mabel Ann GREENE (my mother's mother)who married Thomas M. BLACK. ***************************** The other set of PA GGgrandparents were: James BLACK and Charlotte McWHIRTER BLACK both from N Ireland They had 2 sons and 3 daughters: 1- Samuel M. BLACK m. in 1872 Melissa M. MARTIN They had 4 daughters who married into LITTELL, ROSS and WIGHTMAN. (one died early) and 4 BLACK sons, one being Thomas M. BLACK (my grandfather mentioned above). 2 thru 5- Mary Jane, Margaret, Elizabeth Ann, Sarah Ellen, and Thomas Alexander BLACK, about whom I know nothing yet. ***************** I have lots of old photos of the SANKEYs. Many of the BLACKs and their spouses attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA. I have an Alumni book for this college, a United Presbyterian institution, for the graduating years of 1854-1940, and am happy to do lookups in this book for anyone interested. PA research is whole new thing for me as the lines I have worked on previously have been mostly from NYC/Brooklyn. This should be fun!
