We are looking on any records of Alvin? Alvan? Alvah? E. Sample or Semple who was born in PA 1840 and raised in New Castle, PA. We have no idea who his parents or siblings were, but the name Elon Sample has been passed on generation after generation/ if this helps. Alvin married in Brockford or Brockport, NY, then they farmed in Illinois and headed West in 1870's to Kansas where they homesteaded a farm in Lyons, Kansas where Elon A Sample and his other children were raised and continued on the farm and all buried in a Cemetary in Lyons, Kansas.
