It's me again, folks. Could you tell? I don't want anyone to panic but I've just reset the "REPLY" button to "Reply to List". The "REPLY ALL" remains unchanged. When Reply All is used, you're answer with got to both the List and the Original Poster privately . . . UNLESS YOU MANUALLY OVERRIDE IT by deleting one, the other or both. Selecting the former, REPLY will pre-address your reply to the List now. Why? Well . . . I'll tell you. That is precisely part of the reason this List has been so dead. When someone does post, most folks are doing what I'm doing (without thinking, mind you). It's so darn easy to just click on that little ole' "REPLY" button and . . . Bob's Your Uncle . . . your information gets shared with only a party of one. Sometimes I wonder how I can be so dumb . . . don't answer that. Anyway, you're gonna have ta think twice before you send your answer IF you want it to be private because it contains personal information or exchange . . . which is okay, too. But if it doesn't, let's share and share alike. You post something to the List, another answers, the third adds another chunk and so the snowball gathers speed and volume winging its merry way down the hill to oblivion. NOW . . . one other little, itsy-bitsy minor request. Well, two really. Item 1: Let's put our surnames in CAPS. It makes it so much easier to read and pick out especially for some our senior researchers. Item 2: (and I KNOW you're heard this one before) Subject Lines, Subject LINES, SUBJECT LINES . . . please; pretty please. Make it as relevant to your topic as you can. I'm done. Let's let the postings begin . . . -- Kathleen List Admin
