1. Re: [Palatines] Thanks everybody -- Nassau-Siegen
2. Thanks, Jim Groat, for the book info "Palatine Families of New York". In the category of "my two cents too", I'll offer the following: Nassau-Siegen was a principality near the town of Siegen, in present-day Nordrhein-Westfalen. In truth, it was never part of Palatinate. However, most if not all of the original settlers of the Germanna Colony in Virginia came from this district, and since that happened contemporaneously with the Palatinate immigrations to Pennsylvania and New York, it often comes up in the discussion. A nice book of genealogy that covers many of the Germanna Colony immigrants, inlcuding my Brombach, Fischbach, and Wendel ancestors, is "Ancestry and Descendants of the Nassau-Siegen Immigrants to Virginia 1714 - 1750" by B.C. Holzclaw. The web site for the Germanna Colonies, which is most informative, is http://www.germanna.org/ Best Wishes, Don Boyd Fairborn, Ohio U.S.A.
