I've seen the name Daudy in relation to Dawdy a few times and Daudy is a surname that comes up frequently in French genealogy and modern phone books.All the French I read, speak or understand, could fit into a thimble and my one attempt at correspondence with a Daudy person was totally unproductive as his English was on par with my French. However, I think he was saying yes, Dawdy could be an Anglicized version of Daudy. Joan
