All, Speaking of good background information about the Palatine immigration, I just finished reading John Vrooman's historical novel called "The Promise Land." I enjoyed it very much. It was very easy to identify with the trials and tribulations of the Palatines as told in this quite factually correct - albeit fictional - story. The fact that many of my Palatine ancestors are mentioned by name was just icing on the cake. It's primarily about the Palatines that settled in Schoharie County including those that followed John Conrad to Pennsylvannia. See if your library has it or see if you can get it via interlibrary loan. It's an enjoyable read. Dick Martin in Saratoga County, NY
