Hello, I was requested by Hubert Burger to help to find his lost distant relatives in Lancaster, PA. In 1878 Adam Burger, a butcher, born 13 Dec 1860 and in 1881 his brother Philipp Burger, a baker, born 14 Sep 1865 emigrated to North America and settled in Lancaster. Both were born in Gross-Zimmern, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany and sons of Ambrosius Burger, 1827-1896. Ancestor of the Catholic families in Gross-Zimmern was Jean Burger from Liège, Belgium. In 1653 his son Wendel Philipp Burger was born here. As in 1904 a new Catholic church was erected in Gross-Zimmer emigrant Adam Burger donated a church window in honor of his parents. We would like to get in contact with descendants of Adam and Philip Burger and/or interested searcher to share informations. Thanks in advance. Klaus-Peter Hoelzer, Reinheim, Germany kpholz@gmx.de
I don't know if this little bit of info will help or if it's the same family but in my book Church records of the 18th century Listed under Baptisms by Rev. Mongrand of St. Mary's Church (Catholic) I found on Sept 20, 1795 a Julius Adolphus, aged 2 months son of Master Philip Peticolas and wife Madam Ameilia Moneuse-their Sponsors were a Master Michael Burger, Madam Elizabeth Burger. I do havwe several Burgers listed on Ships----if you're interested in them I'll send them too-- Good-luck with your research Nancy Rupp-Shultis ----- Original Message ----- From: "Klaus-Peter Hölzer" <kpholz@gmx.de> To: <PALANCAS@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 23, 2011 3:53 PM Subject: [PALANCAS] BURGER-families in Lancaster Couty Hello, I was requested by Hubert Burger to help to find his lost distant relatives in Lancaster, PA.
